Day 1 of 6 Days Rwanda Safari: Arrival and transfer to Hotel
Depending on your arrival time at Kigali airport on this first day of your 6 Days Rwanda Vacation Safari, a representative Driver / guide from our tours and travel company will be waiting to welcome you and later drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. This day of gorilla tours comes with a lot of anxiety and ecstasy.
Day 2: City Tour and transfer to Volcanoes national park
After breakfast on this second day of your 6 Days Rwanda Vacation Safari, we drive for city tour to the most memorial sites in the city like Genocide site, Museum and others. Break off for lunch then later drive through the terraced hills of Rwanda to Volcanoes national park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight
Day 3: Gorilla trekking experience
After early morning breakfast on this third day of your 6 Days Rwanda Vacation Safari, you will be transferred to the park headquarters – Kinigi for a briefing about the endangered mountain gorillas from the park warden. Along with your trekking gear, drinking water and packed lunch, the driver will drop you off at the starting point to trek the gorillas together with the ranger guides. This activity may take between 1-8 hours searching for the gorillas depending on their movement.
However meeting them is so rewarding and you will spend maximally 1 hour with them as you take time studying them and taking pictures and videos. After the activity, have lunch then drive to Lake Kivu, its a 2 hours drive. Relaxation, dinner and overnight
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe forest & Canopy walk
After morning breakfast on this fourth day of your 6 Days Rwanda Vacation Safari, explore a little bit of Lake Kivu – one of the great lakes in Africa and is the largest of the fresh water lakes that gleam in the Albertine (Western) rift of the Great Rift Valley. On the shores there is the Kibuye town which is one of the country’s most attractive of lake ports, nestled in a series of interwoven and undulating hills and will offer you spectacular views of the lake and its islands plus the surrounding countryside.
After exploring the lake, you will connect to Nyungwe National park, a 4-5 hours drive, connect for a canopy walk – walking trail (a swing bridge 50 meters in length) that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rain forest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will proceed to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking
Enjoy breakfast on this fifth day of your 6 Days Rwanda Vacation Safari and go for briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are much easier to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3-5 hours. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and videos. You will then return to the hotel for lunch and spend the evening at resting. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 6: Return to Kigali and departure
Have breakfast on this last day of your 6 Days Rwanda Vacation Safari then embark on return to Kigali city. En route, visit the national museum in Butare and the genocide site, en route lunch before proceeding to Kigali. You will either be dropped at the airport or your hotel in Kigali.
