Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali pick up and transfer to volcanoes national park
Transfer to Volcanoes national park: Depending on your location in Kigali Rwanda on day 1, you will be met by our company representative who is yet your safari driver for this 5 days combined Rwanda and Congo double gorilla trekking safari. Be briefed about your itinerary as you set off from Kigali heading to Volcanoes national park a home to the endangered mountain gorillas, Golden monkeys and the volcanoes. Depending on your time of arrival at the park, proceed to check in your lodge for a meal and spend your evening either at leisure or have a guided walk to visit twin Lakes of Burela and Ruhondo. You may also choose to have a cultural tour to the Ibyiwacu cultural village.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park Rwanda
Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park Rwanda: On day 2 of 5 days combined Rwanda and Congo double gorilla trekking safari, wake up for an early breakfast, pack some snacks, drinking water and wear the suitable gorilla trekking gear as you meet your safari driver for a transfer to the park headquarters for a pre gorilla trekking briefing where you will meet other trekkers also attending the briefing. During the briefing, you will be in position to learn about the dos and don’ts during gorilla trekking, the possible encounters and many other information necessary for a successful gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park. After the briefing, you will then hire a porter and finally start the forest walk in search of habituated mountain gorilla family available for trekking. The entire forest walk takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours after which you will spend only one hour with these gorillas in their natural habitats taking photographs and learning more about their behaviors such as feeding, breast feeding, copulating and sometimes you will watch them fighting amongst themselves. After an hour has elapsed in vicinity of gorillas, you will exit the forest and be returned to your lodge for lunch. You will choose either to spend an evening on a cultural visit to Ibyiwacu or have a walk to the twin lakes of Burela and Ruhondo depending on which activity you did on the previous evening.

Day 3: Transfer from Volcanoes national park Rwanda to Virunga national park Congo
Transfer to Virunga national park: On day 3 of 5 days combined Rwanda and Congo double gorilla trekking safari, you will wake up on a relaxed cup of tea for breakfast after which you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver for a transfer to virunga national park Congo with an enroute lunch either in Gisenyi or Goma. You will access Congo via Grande barrier Rwanda Congo border to obtain Congo visa before proceeding to meet the convoy for a road drive to your lodge for check in, dinner and overnight.

Drive back to Kigali Rwanda departures: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your lodge on day 5 of 5 days combined Rwanda and Congo double gorilla trekking safari then check out of the lodge and join the convoy for a transfer to Goma where you will then cross back into Rwanda to Gisenyi, obtain your new Rwanda Visa and the 1st visa expires the moment you enter into Congo. After obtaining your visa, you will then be driven by your safari driver to Kigali for a city tour and departures.
