Day 1: City tour & Transfer to Ruhengeri
When you arrive at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will meet a tour guide from our Rwanda tours and travel company who will transfer you to Kigali city for a brief city tour excursion. On this 4 days Rwanda gorilla tour, you will visit landmarks like the Kimironko market, Gisozi genocide memorial site, Caplaki crafts village and many more other places.
You will then have lunch and drive to Musanze in the northern province of Rwanda. This town is where Volcanoes National Park is found. You will arrive in the evening, have dinner and then relax as you prepare yourself for your gorilla trekking encounter the following day. Stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
On this day of your 4 days Rwanda gorilla tour, you will have an early morning breakfast meal then transfer to Volcanoes National Park’s headquarters for briefing by the park rangers before making your way into the mountains in search for mountain gorillas. On this meeting, you will be assigned to random mountain gorilla families and briefed about what you should and what you shouldn’t do when you meet gorillas in their natural habitat. Immediately after this briefing, its time to get started with your trek now. You will search for the endangered mountain gorillas in the forest.
This quest takes 2 to 8 hours depending on previous day and current movement of these apes. When you finally locate them, you will be granted an hour to spend around them then return to your starting point after to receive your gorilla trekking certificates. You will then return to your gorilla safari lodge to relax as you wind up the second day of your 4 days Rwanda gorilla tour. Overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Gisenyi
This is yet another exciting day on your 4 days gorilla tour in Rwanda. Your breakfast meal will be served as early as on the previous day. You will then drive back to the park headquarters for another briefing meeting as on the second day. After your briefing meeting, you will go for your Golden monkey trekking experience. Golden monkey trekking takes place in Volcanoes National Park, but is not as strenuous as mountain gorilla trekking. The activity lasts for two to five hours. After trekking golden monkeys, you will then transfer to Gisenyi to relax at leisure in Lake Kivu. Overnight stay at Paladis Malahide Hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali & Departure
Being the fourth and last day of your 4 days Rwanda safaris tour, you will enjoy your early morning breakfast at leisure, carry out a few water-sport activities on the lake and then transfer back to Kigali City where you will either be dropped at a hotel of your choice or rather proceed straight to Kigali International Airport for your onward departure flight. This marks the last day of your 4 days Rwanda gorilla tour.
