Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and Transfer to Akagera National Boat cruise
On your first day of the 4-day safari in Rwanda, our expert safari driver guide will pick you up from the hotel /residence, following your breakfast and brief you on this tour. You will then transfer to the park on the 2.5-hour journey from Kigali, driving to the kayonza district in the Eastern province of Rwanda.
Travel to Akagera National Park with en-route stopovers along the route. Take your time to ask your driver-guide questions about the wonderful scenery and even request photographic stopovers along the way.
Upon arrival at the park, you will check in to your booked safari accommodation at the lodge and order your lunch. You will then continue for a sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema offers a great chance to spot the aquatic mammals like hippos and crocodiles in the lake or on the shores. Then, return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Safari Game Drive in Akagera Np -Drive Back to Kigali
On this day, after breakfast, you will leave for a full-day safari game drive in the park with your packed lunch at the lodge. You will expect to see the Big five mammals such as lions, rhinos, elephants, buffalo and leopards, and other species like antelope, kob and baboons.
The park is a varied habitat for wildlife species in Rwanda and a birder’s paradise with more than 500 bird species in the park. Later in the afternoon, you will transfer back to Kigali and drop off at your hotel with the evening at leisure. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Pick up and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning after breakfast. Thereafter, transfer to Nyungwe National Park. The Journey southwest passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscapes, sighting Kamegeri rock in Ruhango district.
Arrive at the park reception and have a short briefing from the park guides. Then, proceed with a short hike to the canopy walk adventure for a thrilling experience on a suspended bridge covering 160m through the lush montane rainforest and 70 meters high from the forest floor.
This is one extraordinary activity that offers an amazing view of the ancient forest. You will walk back to the meeting point to meet your guide and drive to the hotel, check in and enjoy property amenities. Spend the evening at leisure, with dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking – Depart to Kigali
On your last day, you will enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel. Then, head on an exciting hike in search of these great apes in their natural habitat. Prepare to hear these excitable primates before you encounter them, as their pant hoots travel through the deep forest.
During your trekking experience, you may also spot migratory birdlife, including the regal sunbird, Ross turaco, Grey -cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk, among others. Then after a great experience, your guide will drive you back to Kigali. You will be dropped off at your hotel/residence or Kigali International Airport for your flight departure.
