Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Airport arrival and pick up
- Airport Pick up: On the first day of your 18 Days Combined Uganda & Rwanda Safari, you will arrive at Entebbe international airport in Uganda where you will be picked by achieve global safaris representative and transferred to Kampala. Once in Kampala, check-in at the lodge, enjoy your late lunch and embark on an evening Kampala city tour where you will be in a position to visit shops, markets, religious sites, etc. return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
- Transfer to Murchison falls national park: on the second day of your 18 Days Combined Uganda & Rwanda Safari, you will have a drive towards the northeastern part of Uganda. Wake up in the morning on a served breakfast then check out of the lodge and meet your driver to start the journey to Murchison falls national park. Have a stop in Masindi for white rhino trekking at Ziwa sanctuary and an enroute lunch then enter the pack via the top of falls. Once on the lodge check-in for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Return to the lodge for lunch.

Upon arrival, check in at the lodge for lunch and have a visit to the crater lakes and the caves then proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk
- Chimpanzee trekking: on day 5 of your 18 days combined Uganda and Rwanda safari, you will have an early breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for briefing about do’s and don’ts while trekking chimpanzees. After the briefing, your will trail into Kibale forest for a chimpanzee trekking adventure. Once you are done, return to the office where you will meet your driver and return to the lodge for lunch.
- Bigodi nature walks: after you are done with lunch, embark on an evening nature walk in Bigodi wetland where you will sight out different primate species, mammals, birds and plant species. Then return to the lodge for dinner and have an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
- Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park: on the 6th day of your 18 days combined Uganda and Rwanda safari, you will wake up on a relaxed breakfast at the lodge then check out of the lodge and meet your drive to embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. Have a stopover at the caves (Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru) and visit the crater lakes. Enjoy an enroute lunch and proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park for check-in dinner & overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
- Gorilla trekking: on day 9 of 18 Days Combined Uganda & Rwanda Safari, you will have to arise early in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and meet your driver for a ride to park headquarters for a breath about the dos and don’ts while in presence of mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking lasts between 2-8 hours depending on the trekking speed. After trekking gorillas, return to the lodge for relaxation. In case you are still feeling strong, you may have an evening Batwa experience and then close your day with dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 11: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes

All you need is to be at the headquarters for a briefing before setting off to spend an hour with gorillas. After trekking gorilla return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Golden monkey trekking and Transfer to Kibuye

This will take 2-5 hours since golden monkeys are easy to trace as compared to mountain gorillas.

You will have an enroute lunch and arrive in the evening to check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk
- Chimpanzee Trekking: On day 14 of 18 Days Combined Uganda & Rwanda Safari you will wake up on breakfast, pack your lunch box filled with snacks and meet the driver to transfer to park headquarters for a mini briefing then head to the forest to trek chimpanzees in their natural habitat. This will last from 2 to 6 hours. After trekking chimpanzees return to the lodge and freshen up.
- Canopy walk: once you are done taking a rest, transfer to Nyungwe forest again for a breathtaking canopy walk which is a 160m length walk at an elevation of 50m above the ground. You will spot different wildlife species including some primates (some of these primates could be semi habituated or not yet habituated so do not interrupt them), spot different mammals, birds and plant species all in the forest. After the canopy walk, return to the lodge, enjoy your dinner and take a rest.

Day 15: Transfer to Akagera national park

This is a long drive taking roughly 9-10 hours but it’s worth a drive as you encounter a lot of things along the ways including the locals, wildlife, water bodies such as lakes, swamps and the beautiful hills covered with green vegetation cover. Have an enroute lunch and arrive late in the evening at the lodge, check-in, enjoy your dinner have a good night.

Day 16: Full day in Akagera national park
