7 Days Rwanda primates safari is an awesome experience that opens you up to Rwandas primates and bits of wildlife some of the experience include gorilla trekking and golden monkey tracking at the volcanoes Rwanda national park , chimpanzee trekking at Nyugwe forest national park and finally wildlife encounter at Akagera national park.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Akagera National Park
You will be welcomed by our company representative together with the guide and embark on your journey straight to Akakgera national park where you will arrive in good time for lunch followed by an afternoon boat boat ride exploring Lake Ihema where you will see crocodiles, hippos and a number of birds. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 2: Game Drive & Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Wake up to an early morning breakfast and go for a half day game drive in Akagera national park in the company of a ranger guide. Common sights here include Zebras, impalas, waterbucks, and a lot of other small game. Giant elephants, buffalos and giraffes are also often seen. You will exit the park at a few minutes to or at exactly midday and embark on your 10 hour drive to Nyungwe forest national park with lunch en-route and arriving late evening. Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking & Canopy Walk
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are the easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch.
After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk at Uwinka; a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will return to the hotel for dinner at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel as above
Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and embark on a 7 hour leisurely drive to Volcanoes national park as you enjoy the diverse views of the countryside. Arrive Musanze in the afternoon with lunch en-route and spend the evening at leisure relaxing at the lodge as you prepare for the next day’s trek.
Dinner and overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge
Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Parc National Des Volcans
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the ORTPN officials, set off for the gorilla trekking. This experience of gorilla trekking is a once in a life time adventure. The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search of the Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures whose company you will cherish for 1 hour. The activity in Rwanda can take 3-5 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. In the afternoon you may go for an optional village tour for a cultural experience with a resident local guide. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge as above.
Day 6: Golden monkey tracking
Wake up to an early breakfast and off to the park headquarters for briefing as on day 2 above. Go for Golden monkey tracking; the activity lasts 3 to 4 hours. Return to the lodge where you will freshen up and either relax at the lodge or embark on a guided village tour where you will learn more about the traditional culture of the Rwandese people.. Dinner and overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 7: Return to Kigali & Departure
Breakfast will be served and embark on a drive to Kigali city where you will visit the Genocide memorial site, Kaplaki crafts village and transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
