Day 1 of 5 days Rwanda gorillas safari: Arrival & overnight in Kigali
A representative from our Rwanda tours and travel company will meet you at Kigali International airport, take you for a city excursion, have lunch en route for early arrivals and visit a lot other great places before transferring you to Step town motel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Ruhengeri
After having breakfast, you will go for another city tour around Kigali city. You will visit the Kimironko market (one of Africa’s largest local markets), the Genocide memorial site and the places you failed to visit the previous day. You will have your lunch meal at the majestic Hotel Des Mille Collines (Hotel Rwanda) then transfer to Ruhengeri / Musanze arriving in the evening for check in and relaxation. Overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge.
Day 3: First Gorilla Trekking
Have an early morning breakfast meal and head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing before continuing to look for gorillas. The journey to search for gorillas can take 1 to 7 hours depending on the previous day movements of gorillas. Adventuring the steep bamboo slopes to see the gorillas is an inspiring moment. On meeting the gorillas, you will be rewarded an hour around them at a distance of about 6 – 8 meters. After this magical hour, you will then journey back to your starting point, receive your respective mountain gorilla trekking certificates and after drive back to your lodge to relax. In the afternoon / evening, you can carry out a few optional communal activities or stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Second Gorilla Trek
This day you enjoy your second day of gorilla trekking but in a different location and to a different mountain gorilla family. You will go through the exact process as the same day before heading to search for gorillas. Once the gorillas are located, your small group will be granted a maximum of one hour with them just as the previous day before you return to the park headquarters to pick your current mountain gorilla trekking certificate. Just as the previous day, you can decide to carry out a few optional activities within the park or stay at your gorilla safari lodge to relax and kill off your fatigue.
Day 5: Kigali and departure
Have an early morning breakfast meal and depart Musanze for Kigali. You will arrive in Kigali a bit early, have lunch at Hotel Rwanda and after proceed to the airport to catch up with your onward flight to mark the end of your 5 Days Luxury Gorilla Tour in Rwanda.
