Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Ruhengeri – Volcanoes National Park
When you arrive at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by a representative and tour guide from our Rwanda tour company. You will then be transferred to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze, along the northern province of Rwanda. This journey is approximately 2 hours from Kigali. When you reach, you will check in to your hotel and then do an optional community tour around Ruhengeri for a Rwandan cultural blend or rather unwind and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Volcanoes National Park
This day is a big highlight to your 3 day Rwanda gorilla tour experience. You will wake up, have a heavy breakfast meal in the morning and head to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a morning briefing session before making your way into the Virunga Mountains to search for your specific mountain gorilla family. This adventure can last up to 8 hours depending on the previous day and current movements of these gorillas. This time includes a full 1 hour encounter with these mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
After this thrilling moment, you will then return to your starting point, head to the park headquarters to pick your respective gorilla trekking certificates and later on transfer to your accommodation facility for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge as above.
Day 3: Dian Fossey Hike & Transfer to Kigali
Wake up and enjoy an early morning breakfast meal and go for a Dian Fossey hike for about 2 hours. After this adventurous hike, you will then transfer back to Kigali City for a city tour where you will visit places like the museum, genocide memorial monuments and the handcraft markets for souvenir shopping. You will later on proceed to the airport to catch up with your flight back home.
