Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Entebbe city tour, and relaxation

Arrival at Entebbe international airport: On the first day of 12 days Best of Uganda safari tour depending on your flight details, you will land at Entebbe international airport where you will find our company representative waiting for you. He will introduce himself to you and then drive you to your hotel in Entebbe for lunch. You will, later on, engage in an evening Entebbe city tour to watch some of the attractions in this beautiful city including a visit to craft shops and markets. Late in the evening, you will return to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Ngamba Island and transfer to Kampala for city tour

Ngamba Island: on day 2 of 12 days Best of Uganda safari tour, you will enjoy your breakfast at the lodge in Entebbe and then be transferred to Ngamba Island where you will spend time viewing the orphaned chimpanzees in a sanctuary on Lake Victoria thus you will be able to have a view of lake Victoria while on a cruise to and from Ngamba Island. After visiting the Chimpanzees, you will then return for lunch and then have a visit to UWEC (Entebbe Zoo) for nature walks to encounter will more wildlife species that are protected here for education and research purposes.
Transfer to Kampala: You will later on check out of the lodge and be driven to Kampala where you will check in at the lodge and enjoy an evening city tour within the capital city of Uganda followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Jinja- the source of Nile River- Mabira forest

Transfer to Jinja: on day 3 of 12 days Best of Uganda safari tour, you will wake up on a cup of tea at your lodge in Kampala and meet your driver to embark on a journey to Jinja. You will stop at mabira forest one of the nature and beautiful forest in Uganda best for birding, nature walks and zip lining. Then have an enroute lunch and proceed to check in at your lodge before heading for a visit at the source of the Nile. After the visit to the Nile source, you have a visit to the craft shops and monuments and finally return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: White water rafting and to Murchison Falls National Parks

White water rafting: on day 4 of 12 days Uganda safari tour, you will wake for breakfast, then meet your driver to be transferred to Itanda falls for a fascinating white water rafting experience on the rapids. After white water you will return to the lodge for check out and embark on the journey to Murchison falls national park with a stopover in masindi for lunch and another stopover for rhino trekking at Ziwa rhino sanctuary. Then proceed your journey to Murchison falls National Park where you will arrive late in the evening for check in, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon launch cruise

Morning game drive : a morning game drive in this national park is such a rewarding experience as you will be sure of spotting the big 5 game as a result of the stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary. Well, on day 5 of 12 days Uganda safari tour, you will enjoy game drive and meet your driver for an early morning game drive in the oldest and largest national park in Uganda. You will be in position to water several wildlife species including mammals such as Elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and lots of bird species, butterflies and many more. Return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon launch cruise: after lunch, you will be driven to paraa to catch up with the afternoon boat cruise on Nile River at 2:00 pm. During the boat cruise, you will watch the hippos, crocodiles and other mammals that flock the river for water. Be driven back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. However, you may enjoy an optional hike to summit the top of the falls which is a 45 minutes hike but remember that this hike requires a particular level of fitness. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer from Murchison to kibale forest national park

Transfer to Kibale forest national park: on day 6 of 12 days Uganda safari tour, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge being a travel day then check out of the lodge and embark on the journey from Murchison falls national park to fortpotal. You will have an enroute lunch and proceed to check-in at the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking, bigodi wetlands and transfer to Queen

Chimpanzee trekking: day 7 of 12 days Uganda safari tours is requires full energy as you prepare to spend an hour with habituated chimpanzees in kibale forest. After a morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the assembly for a chimpanzee trekking briefing then later be allowed to penetrate into the forest for 2-6 hours in search of chimpanzees that are used to human life. During chimpanzee trekking, you will be able to encounter other wildlife species including monkeys, elephants, birds, and plant species. Later on, you will be returned to the lodge for lunch.
Guided nature walks: after lunch, you will be guided in a nature walk with in bigodi wetland sanctuary to encounter other primates including monkeys, mammals such as Sitatungas and lots of botanical species of plants. This walk will last about 2 hours and you will be returned to the lodge for check out and have a drive to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will arrive late in the evening for check-in dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Morning game drive and afternoon launch cruise on kazinga channel

Morning game drive: after breakfast on day 8 of 12 days Uganda safari tours, you will be transferred to kasenyi plains for a game drive where you will spend time amidst wildlife species including mammals, birds, butterflies and many more species that reside in this beautiful park. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon launch cruise: this yet another golden opportunity of encountering the crocodiles and the Hippos in the waters of kazinga channel. A launch cruise on kazinga channel starts at 2: 00pm therefore you will be required to be at the site on time. During the launch cruise, keep your eyes forced to the shores o watch lots of wildlife including mammals as they drink water from the kazinga channel. You will later on be driven back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Tree climbing lions and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Tree climbing lions: you will enjoy your heavy breakfast at the lodge on day 9 of 12 days Uganda safari tour then check out and be transferred to Ishasha sector with a packed lunch box for a game drive. During this game drive, you will see a good number of tree climbing lions which are unique species of lions that are only found in Uganda within Queen Elizabeth national park and in Lake Manyara national park in Tanzania. Up to date, no one has come up with the proper reason as to why these lions climb up in the tree branches. Enjoy your packed lunch under the tree, or you may opt for a hot meal within the Ishasha sector.
Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park: After the meal, you will exit the park and start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the largest population of endangered mountain gorillas in the world. Upon arrival at the park, you will proceed to the sector where you intend to trek mountain gorilla the following day for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 10: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi: on day 10 of 12 days Uganda safari tour, you will wake as early as possible, have breakfast, pack snacks , and drinking water and put on that c gear that you brought for the safari. You will be transferred to the pack headquarters for briefing, porter hiring, and obtain your hiking stick and finally embark on the straining but fascinating expedition in the wilderness of mountain gorillas. Upon getting closer to the mountain gorillas, you will be offered an hour to interact and take the pictures with the mountain gorillas and later be returned to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi: you will later be transferred to Kabale district direct to Lake Bunyonyi which is known for being home to several little birds, islands and beautiful terraces. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, you will check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Canoeing and nature walks

Canoeing and nature walk: on day 11 of 12 days Uganda safari tour, you will wake up on breakfast at the shores of Lake Bunyonyi while watching the beautiful birds. After breakfast, you will enjoy canoeing to explore the islands on Lake Bunyonyi. After canoeing, you will enjoy a nature walk to visit the farms and the locals that farm near the shores of this deep lake. After lunch, you will enjoy a relaxed evening at the lake enjoying the cool breath from the lake until the sun goes down and you retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Return to Kampala for departures

Departures: This is the last day of your 12 days Uganda safari tour when you are expected to return to Kampala – Entebbe for departures. After morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet the driver to be transferred to Kampala. You will enjoy an enroute lunch in Mbarara town at Igongo cultural hotel and have a stopover at the equator for some experiments and photographs and finally be dropped either in Kampala or at Entebbe international airport for departures to the next destination.
