How many days are best for a safari to Lake Mburo National Park? It’s only 3 days, which you can take to enjoy an unforgettable safari to Lake Mburo National Park, though it may seem to be a short safari tour package, it’s worth a safari. However, Lake Mburo National Park is one of Uganda’s smallest parks, which can easily be reached by vehicle; it’s approximately a 3- to 4-hour drive to access the main safari destination.
The park inhabits a diversity of wild animals, “antelopes” such as impala, zebras, elephants, buffalos, topis, and wild dogs, and is a paradise for bird life.
Some of the bird life include the brown chested wattle plover, African finfoot, Abyssinian ground hornbill, yellow-billed duck, white-tailed pelican, white-winged black tern, common scimitarbill, greater cormorant, yellow-billed duck, grey snipe, white-winged barbet, pink-backed pelican, grey-crowned crested crane, Tabora cisticola, papyrus yellow warbler, long-tailed cisticola, and yellow-breasted apalis, among others.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – evening game drive
Depending on the traveler’s location in Kampala or Entebbe, you will meet with your safari guide and set off to Lake Mburo National Park early in the morning at 8am.
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, where you will be given a chance to have a stopover at the equator on Kayabwe Long Masaka Road. After continuing the journey via Masaka, driving to the park. Arrive at the park at lunchtime and enjoy it at the booked lodge as you get prepared for the evening game drive.
Evening game drive: After lunch, relax at the lodge as you get ready for an evening game drive. While on a game drive, you will be able to explore the park’s treasures like eland, zebras, topis, giraffes, buffaloes, otters, waterbucks, and different unique bird species. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Morning game drive: You will wake up and have aroma tea and breakfast with delicious snacks after meeting up with your driver or guide for your morning game drive in open plains. During your game drive, expect to see a number of mammals grazing in savannah grassland and such animals include buffalos, eland, topis, zebras, and impalas.
Have a chance to see nocturnal species after returning back to their hideout; you will also be able to encounter beautiful bird species. After the game adventure, drive back to the lodge rest and lunch.
Boat cruise: Later, in the afternoon, go for an afternoon boat cruise along Lake Mburo, which begins at exactly 2pm. Along your boat cruise on lake Mburo ,you will get amazed of cruising near water mammals like hippos ,crocodiles and other species will be seen along the water banks quenching for thirsty like otters ,antelopes ,water bucks ,topis ,zebras ,water birds like blue headed weaver ,heron ,pelicans ,fish eagles ,king fishers ,shoe bill stork among others.
After, you will drive back to the lodge do refreshment and have dinner. Your overnight stay in the same lodge was the first opinion.
Day 3: Morning nature walk and transfer back to Kampala
Morning nature walk: Wake up early, have breakfast and go for a morning guided nature walk on foot, accompanied by an armed ranger within the forests and interesting park trails where you will be able to discover the hidden treasures of the park.
As you are busy wandering around the park’s natural beauty, you will have more experience exploring different vegetation types and mammals like buffaloes, eland, bird species such as white-winged warblers, African fish eagles, grey-crowned cranes, brown-chested lapwings, black-bellied bustards, emerald-spotted wood and many more to see here on your visit.

After returning, lodge for lunch and check out. Then depart back to Kampala to be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe to catch up with your flight.
