7 days Bwindi gorillas and Masai Mara wildlife safari is a one week East African safari in both Uganda and Kenya which are situated in East African region. This 7 safari includes 7 days and 6 nights starting from Entebbe International airport then to Bwindi Impenetrable national park for a breathtaking gorilla trekking activity then take a domestic flight from Kisoro to Masai Mara national park where you will spend yet two more nights in the wilderness of Masai Mara surrounded by several species of wildlife and end your safari in Nairobi with a flight back home at Jomo Kenyatta International airport.

Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport

Arrival: On day 1 of 7 days Bwindi gorillas and Masai Mara wildlife safari, you will be met by our company driver at Entebbe International airport and be transferred to Kampala for meal. After enjoying the meal and depending on your arrival time, you may meet your driver for an evening Kampala city tour then return to your lodge for dinner and have an overnight sleep.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Transfer to Bwindi: on the 2nd of you will wake up in the morning, have breakfast and then check out of the lodge to embark on the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. You will have a stopover at the equator, take photographs and perform some experiments. You will then have an enroute lunch at Igongo Cultural center before proceeding with the drive to the home of Mountain gorillas in Kisoro district. The drive lasts between 9-11 hours considering all the stopovers along the way. Expect to arrive in the evening where you will have to check in at your lodge, have dinner and take a rest.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking

Gorilla trekking: on day 3 of 7 days Bwindi gorillas and Masai Mara wildlife safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge then meet your driver to be transferred to headquarters of the park to join the rest of the group in a gorilla trekking briefing. After briefing, hire a porter and then follow the instructions given by your ranger while in the wild. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2-8 hours depending the gorilla movements, trekking speed and the fitness level of trekkers. After trekking you will be driven to your lodge for relaxation. You may opt for and evening Batwa experience to have an evening filled with entertainments of dance and drama from the batwa people known as the indigenous inhabitants of the forests who were later on evacuated in order to protect the endangered mountain gorillas from extinction.

Day 4: Fly to Masai Mara national reserve

Fly to Masai Mara: on day 4 of 7 days Bwindi gorillas and Masai Mara wildlife safari, you will have to enjoy your breakfast then check out of the lodge and be driven from Bwindi Impenetrable national park to Kisoro airfield for a domestic flight to Masai Mara national reserve. Upon landing, you will be welcomed by our Kenyan company representative who will introduce you to the activities to engage in while on a Kenyan side as part of your safari. Then be driven to your lodge in Masai Mara where you will check in and enjoy some meal.
Depending on your arrival time, you will have an evening game drive within the nearby locations around the lodge since Masai Mara is a very big park that harbors a lot of tourist attraction thus every minute wasted is a total loss.

Day 5: Full day game drive in Masai Mara

Full day game drive in Masai Mara: on this day 5 of 7 days Bwindi Gorillas and Masai Mara wildlife safari, you will have an early morning game drive and off the park you go where you will enjoy the early morning game drive before the sun rise. During the fame drive early in the morning, you will be able to see the nocturnal mammals and hunters such as Lions, and other mammals that rise vey early in the morning. After the morning game drive you may return to the lodge for a meal or stay in the park and enjoy the packed lunch under the tree shade. Then proceed with your game drive as you sight out lots of wildlife species. Take a drive towards the Mara river where you will spot the wildebeests as the migrate within two national parks of Serengeti national park in Tanzania and Masai Mara national park in Kenya via Mara river. This wildebeest migration is normally witnessed in the months between July and October. Apart from the wildebeests, you will also spot other mammals including Hippos, crocodiles, Buffaloes and many more.

Day 6: Full day in Masai Mara

Morning hot air balloon: on day 6 of 7 days Bwindi gorillas and Masai Mara wildlife safari, you will have to wake up early in the morning and transfer for the hot air balloon experience that will allow you to have glance at the park from above, you will be in position to stand amidst the lions, Cheetahs, hyenas and other nocturnal mammals in their hideouts in the park. You will also spot the herbivores as they wake up very early to feast on the fresh and moist vegetation. These mammals include Hippos, Elephants, Buffalos, wildebeests, warthogs, Zebras, and many more. After landing, you will have a bush breakfast and a certificate then have a break game drive as you return to the lodge.

Afternoon game drive: After enjoying your lunch, you will have an afternoon game drive to explore other parts that have not been covered in the past game drives then return to your lodge and have dinner followed by overnight sleep.

Day 7: Morning game drive and drive to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for departures

Morning game drive: on the last day of 7 days Bwindi Gorillas and Masai Mara wildlife safari, you will have breakfast served at the lodge and then enjoy the last game drive in the park in preparation to exit the park. Being the last day of your safari, you will have to visit all the remaining parts of the park and then return to the lodge for lunch.
Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta international airport for departures: once you are done with your lunch, you will then check out of the lodge and have a drive to Jomo Kenyatta international airport for departures.
