Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to the Nakiwogo landing site
Pick up and Transfer to Ssese Island: Depending on your point of location, our driver guide will pick you up from Kampala or Entebbe Airport and transfer you to the Nakiwogo landing site in Entebbe early before 2:00 pm. At exactly 2:00 pm it’s when the ferry leaves. You will sail to the largest island of Bugala and if you arrive earlier in the day at Entebbe Airport our driver /guide will take you for a tour around Entebbe Botanical Gardens or the ‘’UWE’’ Uganda Wildlife Education Center ‘’Zoo’’ for life adventure
When you arrive late at the Airport, you will start the journey by sailing to the island on ferry transport, and enjoy the beautiful sites of the second largest freshwater lake in the world that takes you to Lake Victoria. Then, you will be dropped at the Lutoboka bay on Bugala Island and by this time, you will just mention how excellent the Island is. Check into the hotel, refresh and take an amazing walk to witness the beautiful scenery. Then the rest of the evening will be spent relaxing at the white sand beach. You can request a campfire later in the evening for your warmth. Dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge.
Day 2: Forest walk, Swimming, fishing at the Ssese Island
Forest walk: Wake up, enjoy your breakfast and start your beautiful day by watching the sunrise. Then go for a guided forest walk within Bugala Island helped by the trained guide to take you around to all the important places while explaining information about the history behind the Island. The guide will also lead you to an abundant of birds where you will be able to see species such as African fish eagle, palm nut vultures, Jewel pygmy kingfishers, hornbills, paradise flycatchers, barbets, grey parrots, turacos, and many more. You will have sightseeing of beautiful butterflies and other wildlife species as you walk through the forest trails on the island.
Boat Cruise: After a forest walk, embark on a boat cruise to visit the fishing land sites and learn more about the fishing lifestyle. Enjoy the photo-taking around the site as much as possible. Go for lunch.
After lunch, you will engage in one of these activities as an optional sunbathing, beach game, or swimming among others. Dinner and overnight stay
Day 3: Return to Kampala or Entebbe Airport
Return to Kampala or Airport: Wake up, enjoy your breakfast, check out of the lodge and be transferred back to the mainland.
Then drive back to Entebbe or Kampala. The ferry leaves Bugala at exactly 8 am and arrives in Entebbe at 11 am. Our safari driver-guide will be at Nakiwogo waiting for you to drive back to Entebbe Airport to catch your flight back home or to be dropped in Kampala at your hotel. The tour will leave you with great memories encountered.
