Detailed Itinerary of the 12 Days Tanzania and Zanzibar Holiday Safari
Day 1: Travel to Tarangire National Park – Explore into afternoon game drive
On day 1 of the 12 Days Tanzania and Zanzibar Holiday Safari, depending on your point of location in Arusha, start your day early and transfer to Tarangire National Park, a drive that takes about 3 hours’ drive in the northern part of Tanzania.
Tarangire National Park is renowned as a home that harbors large herds of elephants as well as ancient baobab trees. Upon your arrival at the lodge inside Tarangire National Park you prepare for lunch and also an afternoon game drive.
During your game drive in the park, expect to adventure a bucket of wildlife species including; gazelles, impalas, zebras, waterbucks many more as well as plenty of bird species.
You will also enjoy watching the sunset in the wilderness of the national park. After, drive back to your reserved lodge in Karatu. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Drive to Lake Manyara National Park – Explore into game drive and Canopy walk
On the 2nd of the 12 Days Tanzania and Zanzibar Holiday Safari, you will have morning breakfast at the lodge and then check out and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for yet another gorgeous game drive. You will have a game drive in the park where you will be able to spot a range of wildlife species like the unique tree-climbing lions, elephants, gazelles, buffaloes, and hippos. Waterbucks, hartebeests, warthogs, hyenas, giraffes, elands, impalas among others. You will also be able to watch various bird species during your game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.
Later afternoon, you will go enjoy a canopy walk experience. Then return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After morning breakfast, check out and drive to Serengeti National Park a drive approximately which takes about 5 to 6 hours with en-route stops at Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro viewpoints. You can also stop at the Olduvai gorge, which is an archaeological site that offers evidence of early man relating to human evolution discovered by Dr. Mary and Louis Leakey.
Then, proceed to Serengeti National Park with an en-route lunch break and after enjoying en-route lunch. continue a drive to your lodge with an en-route game drive in the wide open savannah plains. Return to your lodge, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park
You will wake up, have an early morning breakfast, with packed lunch boxes and your driver guide will pick you up at the lodge to embark on a full-day game drive. You will start from far north around the Mara river in case you came in the opposite months that stun with wildebeest migration event. The migration usually starts from Serengeti after missing it from Mara Kenya side thus giving the best. Spending the whole day in the park, will enable you to spot a wide range of animals like Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Lions, Hyenas, Cheetahs, Hippos, Antelopes, Harbeest, Zebras among others. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Another day game drive in Serengeti National Park
After having breakfast served with delicious snacks, go explore the park at its fullness – including all kinds of wildlife like the big five mammals like lions, leopards, buffalo, rhinos, and elephants among others. You will also see other wildlife species such as Wildebeest, waterbucks, antelopes, zebras, Kudus, hippos, buffalos many more.
You will visit the retina hippo pool where you can see a lot of hippos swimming in a pool as well as different predators in the savannah of this national park mostly sitting on top of rock Kopjes. Return late in the evening at the lodge, relax, have dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area –Visit the Masai Boma Cultural Tour
After enjoying morning breakfast, followed by check out and then drive back to Ngorongoro Conservation Area – the journey takes about a 1-hour drive. You will connect to visit the Masai Bomas of Ngorongoro, and learn about their amazing culture. Enjoy –a route viewpoint of the crater and game drive in the Ngorongoro area. Arrive at the lodge check in, and relax as you wait for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Drive, Crater Rim Walk
Have breakfast well served at your lodge, as you get ready to be transferred to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon your visit to the crater, you will be able to descend into the crater and visit Lake Magadi, which is found in the center of the crater. You will engage in a game drive and search for numerous wildlife species like; elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras as well as flamingos along the shores of lake Magadi.
You will enjoy a walking safari in the conservancy and after continue a drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Arusha and Fly to Zanzibar
Wake up enjoy breakfast and then transfer to Arusha Airport with your packed lunch to catch up your flight to Zanzibar.
Flights with Flight Link Tanzania operate daily flights from Arusha to Zanzibar. There are different options of departure time flights and arrival. Depart at 13:00 hours and arrive in Zanzibar at 14:15 hours.
Upon arrival, you will meet your driver and transfer to your booked hotel for check-in, relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Zanzibar City tour – Visit Prison Island and spice tour and Stone town
After breakfast at your hotel, you will start your day’s activities. Take a private boat from Stone town to Changuu Island or Prison Island where you will enjoy seeing the rare Giant tortoises and during your tour along the Island, you will also experience snorkeling.
After, you will take a boat back from Changuu Island back to Stone Town. You will also engage in a space tour as you explore the plantations where you will see different exotic spices and also get to know the uses of spices like cloves, cinnamon nutmeg many more. After a tour to Spice and others, drive back to the hotel, and relax. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Safari Blue Experience and Zanzibar beach experience
After a relaxed breakfast, drive to an island where you enjoy the best tour of sailing in the beautiful traditional Dhows. You will enjoy a boat ride with a delicious buffet, drinks, snacks, and fresh tropical fruits.
You will have a day to relax at the white sand beaches of Zanzibar Island and enjoy great views of the Indian Ocean. Have Dinner and overnight stay.
