Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
- Transfer to Masai Mara: This day, our guide will pick you up in a location in Nairobi. It can be at the airport, or at a hotel; after the pickup, you will be transferred to Masai Mara national reserve where you will have dinner and your overnight sleep. This journey will take about 6-7 hours’ drive. So the pickup from Nairobi should not be later than mid-morning

Day 2: Game Drive in Masai Mara
- Game Drive: You will wake up and have breakfast at your accommodation, and after breakfast, you will go for a full day game drive in the park to see lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes, and many more. You have a short break at lunchtime to catch a meal and a breather. The lunch is packed from the accommodation for you. After the full day drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight sleep. Day 3: Full Day Game Drive
- Full-Day Game Drive: On 3 of the 12 Days Kenya Uganda & Rwanda Safari, wake up early in the morning, take breakfast and pack your lunch box and off to the park where you will spend an entire day driving amidst wildlife and return to the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 4: Transfer from Kenya to Uganda
- Transfer from Uganda: Wake up and have breakfast, then check out of the lodge and take a flight from Masai Mara to Entebbe International airport. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up by our company driver to Kampala for lunch and then head for an evening city tour. After the city tour, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 5: Transfer to Kibale
- Transfer to Kibale: Wake-up on early breakfast, then check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kibale forest national park. Upon arrival, check-in at the lodge for lunch and embark on a visit to the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves. After the caves return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Crater Lakes
- Chimpanzee Trekking: On this day, you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast, pack your lunch and meet up with your drive to drive you to the office for a briefing before you start your trekking adventure. Chimpanzee trekking will last from 1-7 hours depending on your trekking speed and the distance the chimpanzees have moved. During chimpanzee trekking, keep your eyes open for the possibility of seeing several primates such as monkeys and other mammals, birds and butterflies.
- Crater Lakes Tour: After trekking, return to your lodge, freshen up and meet your driver again for the exploration of the crater lakes that are believed to have been formed over 10,000 years ago. These Ndali kasenda craters will give you a very beautiful scenic view of nature. After the exploration of the crater lakes return to the lodge, fresh up, enjoy your dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park& Boat Cruise
- Transfer to Queen: On day 7 of the 12 Days Kenya Uganda & Rwanda Safari, wake up early in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in the afternoon, check-in at the lodge for lunch and go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel for the evening boat cruise.
- Boat Cruise: Evening boat cruise starts at 2:00 pm and you will be sailing on the Kazinga channel which is home to several Hippos so be sure to see more than enough of them as the yarn, trail, and bath along the Kazinga channel. You will also be in a position to see several herds of herbivores such as Buffalos, Uganda Kob, Elephants and many more as they quench their thirst on the Kazinga channel. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 8: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi
- Morning Game Drive: Wake up at around 5:30 am, take a bath, enjoy your breakfast and meet with your driver to begin your morning game drive which always starts at 6:30 am. This drive will offer greater opportunities for spotting the Nocturnal mammals before they return to their hideouts where they always their day hours and come out during the night in search of food, hunters, herbivores such as buffalos, elephants, and Uganda kob as they graze in the green bushy grassland and the early birds all seen in kasenyi plains.
- Transfer to Bwindi: After a game drive, return to the lodge for lunch, then check out and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector for tree-climbing lions and continue to Bwindi arriving late in the evening where you will check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking
- Gorilla Trekking: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the most fascinating day of your life, you will wake up at around 5:30 am, enjoy your breakfast, pack your lunch box provided at your lodge then meet with your driver who will take you to the headquarters for a briefing before you start the journey to trek the mighty gorilla. At exactly 8:00 am, a trained game ranger will lead you through various trails in the thick blush and tall impenetrable forest in search of a habituated Gorilla family that is used to humans. This trail takes around 2-5hours depending on your speed and the location of the gorilla family. Once a certain gorilla family is reached, you will be given only one hour with these primates interacting with them as you learn their behaviors such as feeding habits, breastfeeding, and copulation and many more. During the Gorilla trekking, keep your eyes open in the forest for the possibility of spotting several wildlife species including tree species, mammals including elephants, bird species and butterflies. After the trek return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 10: Community Encounters & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
- Community Encounters: After morning breakfast, meet up with your driver who will take you for a community walk. You will be able to meet the Batwa clan who are the shortest people in Uganda as they demonstrate for you about their previous life in the forest and how they used to obtain food through hunting and gathering in Bwindi impenetrable forest. You will enjoy the entertainment by the Batwa people as they sing and dance for you their traditional songs.
- Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi: Return to the lodge, enjoy your lunch, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, check-in, enjoy your lunch and go for an evening canoeing exploring 29 islands while watching beautiful birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 11: Transfer to Rwanda & Visit the Genocide Memorial Sites
- Transfer to Rwanda & Visit the Genocide Memorial Sites: Enjoy your breakfast and then check out of the lodge and meet with your driver to transfer to Rwanda the land of a thousand hills. Upon arrival, check-in at any hotel for lunch and embark on a journey for a City tour where you will visit the Kigali Genocide memorial site and then proceed to visit the market and shop for some crafts and many more. After the city tour return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
DAY 12: Departures
- Departures: This is the last day of your trip, wake up any time you feel like depending on your flight time, have a relaxed at the lodge breakfast then check out of the lodge and meet with your driver for a brief city tour and you proceed to Kigali international airport for departures.
