Murchison Falls National Park Entrance Fees 2022 : Entrance fees are some of charges which you pay before you access into that protective place, like the national park any traveler is required to pay park entrance fees before accessing it. However, Uganda’s park entry fees are set up by the Uganda Wildlife Authority ‘’UWA’’. But the park entrance fees are not guarantee to all the activities in the park, Murchison Falls national park. The fees only allow visitors to have access to the protected areas. Activities in the park are also priced individually basing on the nature and type of the activity.
Facts about Murchison Falls national park is Uganda’s largest national park that sits on land measuring about 3897 square kilometers, rich in wildlife, birds and above all is a bisected area with waters of Victoria Nile where Murchison falls within park can be viewed. The park is located in northwest direction of Uganda at the end of the Albertine rift valley and it is approximately 4 to 5 hours’ drive to access the main destination.
Individual park entry fees
Murchison falls national park entrance fees are divided into categories; entrance for individual persons, vehicles, air crafts among others. Further note, individual entrance fees are divided basing on the status of the guest as well as the charges are stipulated as follows.
A foreign nonresident is charges to pay USD40, foreign resident USD30 and East African community UGX20,000.
Foreign nonresident children are charged USD20, foreign resident USD10 and east African citizen pays UGX5,000 respectively.
Note; The park entry fees are so independent of the activities and other services within Murchison falls national park. The activities are paid per person per day, and so the amount some time slightly increases basing on the number of days an individual is supposed to stay in the national park.
Annual park entry charges
You can choose to pay for the whole year known as the annual entry fees. Although, its only applied or paid by the foreign residents and East African citizens.
Foreign residents are charged USD350 and East African Citizen pay UGX150,000 as an annual park entrance fees.
Family with a maximum of four children are charged USD700 and UGX300,000 for the East African members that is Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Congo among others thus Murchison Falls National Park Entrance Fees 2022.
A corporate group or company foreign resident are charged USD1500 and East African citizen UGX2.5 million as annual charges.
The safari guides are charged UGX10,000 annually in order to enter Murchison Falls national park.
The drivers are charged to pay UGX100,000 annually to access the park.
The tour company drivers are exempted from any entry charges to Murchison falls national park or any other national park in Uganda.
The tour operators who are foreign residents of Uganda are charged USD 50 and UGX125,000 for the East African tour operators annually.
Vehicle and Aircrafts entry charges
The vehicle entry charge is based on the type of the car, size of the car and the duration of time to access the park.
Saloon cars for foreign nonresident guest is charged USD40, USD5 for the foreign residents and UGX20,000 for the vehicle that are registered for the East African community.
Mini buses entering Murchison falls national park and registered for foreign nonresident is charged USD50, USD10 for the foreign residents and East African members at UGX30,000 respectively.
Aircraft charges
Aircrafts are charged UGX50,000 land fees.
Please note, the park entrance fee is levied on a daily basis and en route pilots are not charged if they don’t stay for more than 2 minutes in the park –Murchison falls national park. The vehicle park entry fees are independent to the entry fees for the passengers in it.
Requirements needed for Murchison falls national park entry fees
Foreign residents are required to present in their working permits valid for a minimum of one year
Foreign nonresidents should present in their passport in order to access the park
East African community citizens are required to present in their national identification cards at all entrance in order to be permitted to enter Murchison falls national park.

Boat /launch cruise; Foreign nonresidents pays USD30, Foreign residents USD30 and East African members pay UGX30,000 in order participate in boat cruise at the park.
Hiking top of the falls walk; Foreign nonresident pays USD15, Foreign resident USD10 and East African members UGX10,000 respectively
Hot Air balloon safari; Foreign nonresident pays USD380, Foreign resident USD380 to participate in the activity respectively.
Guided nature walks; Foreign nonresident is charged USD15, Foreign resident pays USD15 and UGX10,000 East Africa Member respectively.
Night nature walk; Foreign nonresident pays USD40 and USD20 for the foreign resident and UGX15,000 East Africa members.
Private guided game drives; Foreign nonresident is charged USD20, USD20 foreign resident and UGX20,000 for east African members.
Sport fishing activity; Foreign nonresident pays USD50 and USD50 for the foreign residents.
White water rafting; Foreign nonresident pays USD50, foreign resident USD50 and East African members UGX50,000 respective.
Note this; Murchison falls national park entry fees are stipulated by the government body responsible for all national parks in the country known as Uganda Wildlife Authority. You cannot access to any national park without paying entrance fees. However, all the activities to do in Murchison falls national park is charged per person same applies to all accommodation services in the park. Take note, Uganda wildlife Authority is much way cheaper compared to the privately owned safari lodges or hotels.
