Adventure Activities to do in Semuliki National Park : Semuliki National park is located in the western region of Uganda in Bundibugyo district and it considered being among the smallest national parks in the country which covers a total surface area of about 220 square kilometers and it stands at an elevated area of about 670 meters and 760 meters above the sea level. Semuliki national park was officially published as a national park in 1993 and it is situated within the Albertine Rift sharing boarders with other countries like; the Democratic Republic of Congo. More so, this national park is being managed by the government agency programme which is known as; Uganda Wildlife Authority which has a major role of ensuring that all the national parks are conserved and protected with an aim of maintaining the number of the wildlife species in the country due to the fact that they are considered to be among the major tourist attractions in Uganda hence leading to the development of the Tourism industry. Adventure things to do while in Semuliki National park.
Bird watching.
Semuliki national park is a great birding destination to travel to while on a tour in Uganda because it is a home to over 435 bird species that are best spotted within Ntandi and Sempaya where they can be able to spot the birds in large and some of these birds include; the great blue turaco, the white crested hornbill, piping hornbill, Ross’s turaco, yellow throated nicator, the yellow throated cuckoo, African picluet, red tailed leaflove, haartlaub’s duck and many others.
Hiking to Sempaya hot springs.
The Sempaya hot springs are found along the edge of the great Ituri forest and it is considered one of the main attractions that are found within the park. and the unique thing about the Sempaya hot springs is that there are both female and male springs whereby the female springs are referred to as Nyasimbi which means female ancestors in the local language and its waters boil at temperature 103 degrees. More so, the male hot springs are referred to as Bintnte and hiking
To this spring takes you about one hour. tourists who opt to hike to the Sempaya hot springs involves them to walk through the large forest where they chances to sight see at many wildlife species such as; black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, baboons and many others.
