Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls national park via Ziwa rhino sanctuary
On the first day of the safari, you will be picked up by our driver guide from your hotel early in the morning or from Entebbe airport to start your safari to Murchison falls national park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours drive and on the way, you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary to trek rhinos and then proceed with another stopover for en-route lunch. After lunch you will continue to Murchison falls national park and upon arrival, you will drive to the top of the falls where you will be able to view the most powerful waterfall, listen to its roars, take photos, record videos among others. From the top of the falls, you will connect to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
After an early breakfast on the second day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive in the park where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribi among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls which takes about 2-3 hours. During the boat ride, you will be able to view hippos in water, Nile crocodiles basking on the shores, view other animals drinking water, aquatic bird species among others. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Nile delta boat cruise
After breakfast on the third day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for the Nile delta boat cruise where you will be able to view different animals like hippos, antelopes, view water birds among others.
After the Nile delta boat cruise which takes about 4-5 hours, you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will relax at the lodge and later go for an evening game drive in the park where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed during the previous game drive. Later, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala/Entebbe
On the last day of the 4 days Murchison falls wildlife safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch on the way.
You will arrive in Kampala early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will either drop you off at your hotel or drop off at the airport for your departure flight.
