Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our safari driver representative will welcome you to the land of a thousand hills and brief you about the safari as you drive to Mgahinga national park passing through the Cyanika border in Kisoro, which covers a 4- to 5-hour drive.
On the way, you will be excited about the spectacular views of rolling hills in Rwanda, terraced farmland, and beautiful scenery, among others. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Mulehe Safari lodge – Mid range, Travelers Best Camp – Budget Accommodation

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking and Batwa Culture
Wake up early and enjoy a delicious breakfast, then be transferred to the park headquarters for a short briefing about golden monkey tracking rules at around 7:30am. Then after, meet with the park ranger to escort you through forest trails in search of the most active primates in their natural environment. Once you approach them, an hour will be allowed to observe a lively troop of 40–100 active primates as they leap and play in the trees.
After, you will trek back to meet your driver guide to drive back to the lodge and have a delicious lunch. Then, relax a bit and later go visit the Batwa community, where you will meet up with Batwa pygmies.
After, connect to your lodge for a delectable dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking/Depart to Kigali
Enjoy an early breakfast, check out of the lodge with your packed lunch boxes from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and expectations.
After the briefing, you will meet with a park ranger to accompany you through forest trails in search of the gorilla family. The trekking can take 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located, because they like to move a lot looking for food.
During the trekking, you will be able to view other primate species, different plant species, and bird species, among others.
On locating the gorillas, you will be allowed an hour to spend with them, watch their feeding habits and breastfeeding like humans, and enjoy video capturing.
After an encounter with the gentle giants, trek back to the starting point, where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to depart back to Kigali.
On the way, you will enjoy beautiful views of the Kigali hills, countryside, and terraced farms. Upon arrival in Kigali, your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali international airport for your onward flight or at the hotel in Kigali.
