Safari experiences at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in southwestern Uganda, created in 1991, and covers an area of 33.9 km2 It also established in the Virunga Mountains and encompasses three inactive volcanoes, namely Mount Muhabura, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Sabyinyo.

Mgahinga National Park is famously known to be the home to the endangered mountain gorillas and has around 30 individuals split between one habituated and two unhabituated groups.

The national park is also home to the endangered golden monkey and also 76 mammal species including black-and-white colobus, leopard, African bush elephant, giant forest hog, bushpig, buffalo, Cape bushbuck, black-fronted duiker, and several varieties of rodents, bats and small predators.

Golden Monkey Trekking

Aside from the mountain gorillas the national park is also known to be home to the golden monkey species which is ranked as an endangered species in the national park, visitors can get to marvel at these species as they play in the park boundaries and also pick up fruits for their meals

Bird Watching

The national park is ranked to be a paradise to birders and this is because it is home to numerous bird species which are notable in the national park which are over 180 species including; Rwenzori turaco, grey-crowned cranes, and various species of eagles and sunbirds these birds can be viewed through different safari activities that are conducted in the park such as forest walks, drives, and others.

Cultural Experiences

The Batwa people, also known as the “Pygmies,” are some of the locals that are located around the national park and here sightseers have a chance to engage with them as they get to understand more about them through various activities such as; cultural dances, stories, and craft-making, gaining a deeper understanding of the local communities and their history.
