2021 Park entrance fees for Bwindi impenetrable national park: Entrance fees are the fees levied on different people and vehicles per day before accessing the park. Children (5-15): However, children aged between 5-15 years pay $20 for Foreign Nonresidents, $10 for Foreign Residents and UgX. 5,000 for Ugandan children and Citizens of East African Member States.

Universities: Tertiary institutions and universities pay UgX. 5,000 per person 

A group of Ugandan pupils: Ugandan Pupils and students in groups pay UgX. 3,000 per person

Uganda Wildlife Club: On the other hand, Uganda wildlife clubs pay UgX. 2,000 per club member.

Children below 5: Children below the age of 5 years are allowed to access the park without paying the entrance fees.

Note: The above individual entrance fees are valid for only 24 hours per person starting on the time of entrance thus any extra time spend in the park past 24 hours is charged as an added day. The fees also excludes the park activities such as Birding, nature walk among others.

However, for visitors who intend to trek mountain gorillas are always exempted from paying park entrance fees for Bwindi impenetrable national park since it’s always included on a gorilla trekking permit.

Annual park entrance fees Bwindi impenetrable national park

The annual entrance fees indicates that you pay the park entrance for Bwindi impenetrable national park for all 12 months and its levied on both individual basis, couples, cooperates, Family, taxi drivers and safari guide as shown below;

  • Individual: To be eligible for an annual park entrance fees to Bwindi impenetrable national park, all visitors must be either Foreign Residents (FR), Ugandans or citizens of East African Member states.   • Corporate: A corporate visitor charged an annual entrance fee of $ 1,500 per person per year for Foreign Resident while Ugandans and Citizens of East African member states pay UgX. 2,500,000 per person to access Bwindi impenetrable national park for a full year as well as all other protected areas in Uganda.
  • A safari guide: A well trained and licensed safari guide pays UgX. 100,000 per year as entrances fees for Bwindi impenetrable national park.
  • A tour company Safari driver: A tour company safari driver from a well-recognized tour company in Uganda is allowed to access Bwindi impenetrable national park for free for a full year.

  • The above rate is exclusive of the Vehicle entrance fees. 

  • Foreign Residents must possess a valid working permit for an entire year.

  • The above cost is not available for visitors who intend to trek endangered mountain gorillas.

Vehicle Entrance fees for Bwindi impenetrable national park

This is charged depending on the type of Vehicle per day and these include;

  • Motor cycles are charged $30 for foreign Nonresidents, $5 for Foreign Residents and UgX.10, 000 for and UgX. 20,000 for Ugandans and Citizens of East African Member states.
  • Saloon cars pay $40 for foreign Nonresidents, $10 for Foreign Residents and UgX. 20,000 for Ugandans and Citizens of East African Member states. 
  • Minibus, Omnibuses and Pick-ups are charged $50 for Foreign Non Resident, $15 for Foreign Resident and UgX. 30,000 for Ugandans and Citizens of East African Member states.
  • Tour Company Vehicles and all other 4X4 safari vehicle are charged $150 for Foreign Non Residents, $15 for Foreign Residents and UgX. 30,000 for Ugandans and Citizens of East African Member states.
  • Over landers are charged $150 for Foreign Non Residents, $50 for Foreign Residents and UgX. 100,000 for Ugandans and Citizens of East African Member states.
  • Buses and Lorries pay $150 for Foreign Nonresidents, $75 for Foreign Residents and UgX. 150,000 for Ugandans and Citizens of East African Member states.
  • School buses are charged $ 25 for Foreign Resident and UgX. 50,000 for Ugandans and Citizens of East African Member states. 
  • Delivery vehicles per entry costs $10 for Foreign Residents and UgX. 20,000 for Ugandans and Citizens of East African Member states per entry in the park.

Aircraft landing fees for Bwindi impenetrable national park

Gliders and Microlights are charged $10 for Foreign Non Residents and Foreign Residents then UgX 20,000 for Ugandans and East African Community members per landing.

  • Up to 3 seats pays $20 $10 for Foreign Non Residents and Foreign Residents then UgX 40,000 for Ugandans and East African Community members per landing.
  • For 4-6 Seats costs $30 for Foreign Non Residents and Foreign Residents then UgX 60,000 for Ugandans and East African Community members per landing.
  • For 7-14 Seats costs $40 for Foreign Non Residents and Foreign Residents then UgX 80,000 for Ugandans and East African Community members per landing.
  • For 15-20 Seats charges $50 for Foreign Non Residents and Foreign Residents then UgX 100,000 for Ugandans and East African Community members per landing in Bwindi impenetrable national park.
  • For 21 Seats and above 60 costs $ 60 for Foreign Non Residents and Foreign Residents then UgX 120,000 for Ugandans and East African Community members per landing. 
  • Helicopters are $100 for Foreign Non Residents, $125 for Foreign Residents then UgX 250,000 for Ugandans and East African Community members per landing.
