11 Days Uganda birding safari tour it will take you through the prime birding areas were you will spot different types of birds, the best places in Uganda for birding are; Murchison fall national park, lake Mburo national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi impenetrable national park, mabamba wetland. The birds that can be easily seen are; Shoebill, pelicans, sunbirds, cuckoos and so many others.

DAY1: Arrival

On the 1st day of the birding on your safari, the tour guide will come and pick you from the airport and drop you to the hotel since your reaching at the airport late.

DAY2: Transfer to lake mburo national park.

On the 2nd day of your birding, the tour guide will come and pick you from the hotel after your early morning breakfast and then transfer you to lake mburo national park which takes around 5-6hours drive from Kampala to the park with the only one stop over at lukaya for short calls and relaxation. After then continue to the park in the afternoon for boat cruise, and check-in at the accommodations. After boat cruise in the evening the tour guide/ driver, will drive you to your accommodations for dinner and overnight.

DAY3: Nature walk/ bird watching.

While on your 3rd day on your birding safaris, you will have the day walk in lake mburo research about the birds that common since its well known to be having more different bird species. The birds to be seen are like grey heron, grey crested crane and endemic African fin foot.

DAY4: Transfer to Bwindi.

On the 4th day on your trip, after your morning breakfast the driver will come and pick you from your accommodations and you state your journey to Bwindi which takes like 6hour drive from mbarara town to Bwindi. After reaching in the afternoon, you will have a check at your accommodation. Go for nature walk in the community and come back at yours sites for dinner and overnight.

DAY5: Gorilla trekking

in the morning after your breakfast, you will be transferred at the headquarters for briefing about trekking of gorillas and their behaviours, the gorilla trekking takes about 30- 40 minutes and when they are spotted you can give 1hour to stay with them and have the best time taking many pictures with them as many as you. After gorilla trekking you will return to the starting point.

DAY6: full day birding.

On your 6th day, you will spend the whole day birding in Bwindi national park. Consider walking along to mubwindi swamp trail which has many different bird species like short-tailed warbler, brown-chested lapwing sunbirds, cuckoos and so many others. The rare birds are shoebills, papyrus yellow warbler.

DAY7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth to ishasha sector.

In the morning after your morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park for bird-watching which takes like 4-hour drive. You will arrival at the park in the afternoon, then go for game drive and birdwatching close near to ishasha river. Watch out lion climbing in the ishasha sector lying on the braches of trees and later drive back at the accommodations for dinner and overnight at ishasha river camp.

DAY 8: Bird watching/boat cruise.

In the morning before the sunrise, you have the game drive within the park and you will be able to spot some animals like hynes, lions, leopard and many others since the morning it’s the best time to have many animals seen. Later in the afternoon you will be driven for evening boat cruise, during your boat cruise you will spot some birds like pelicans, African-white-backed, pied kingfisher, yellow-throated leg claw, widow birders, black-headed gonolek among others.

DAY 9: Transfer to Murchison falls.

The driver will pick you from your driver and hotel and your start your long day to Murchison fall national park so that means lunch packed will be provided. Overnight and dinner will be at red-chill bandas.

Day 10: game drive-bird watching / boat cruise

On the 10th day on your birding safari, the guide will drive you for morning game drive after your morning breakfast at your accommodation. Watch at wildlife like lions, elephants and many others and not forgetting the birds in the areas, after you will go for lunch and after go for evening boat cruise in park along the Victoria Nile up to the bottom of the falls. The bird species along the river banks include; woodpeckers, warblers, grey-heron, flycatchers, francolin and so many others. The shoebill stock has also been spotted commonly in Murchison falls during the month of January and march.

DAY11: Departure back Kampala.

In the morning after your breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala on your way to Kampala, you will pass by the rhino sanctuary after then head to Entebbe airport then you will be arriving at around noon time as you end your 11 days birding safari in Uganda.
