Another destination for Mountain gorilla trekking in Uganda is Mgahinga gorilla national park with only 1 habituated gorilla family (Nyakagezi). Both parks are situated in far south western part of Uganda thus can be reached either from Kampala or Kigali Rwanda.

Chimpanzee trekking and Habituation

Just like Gorilla trekking and Habituation experience, the same applies to Chimpanzees. I won’t say that May is favorable for this activity since we all know that dry months are the best but trust me visiting Uganda in May for Chimpanzee trekking and Habituation experience is so interesting as the park is less congested and some accommodations reduce their rates making it cheap to enjoy your adventure on a budget cost. Other places to visit for Chimpanzee trekking safaris in Uganda include Budongo forest, Kalinzu Forest, Kyambura Gorge and Toro Semliki.

May is one of the best months for birding and bird watching in Uganda the pearl of Africa since several migratory birds from Asia, Europe and other countries flock into Uganda as they make their rounds in Africa.
