Uganda Equator Kasese : The new equator monument has been installed in Queen Elizabeth national park located in Kasese district in western Uganda and the Equator is at the altitude that divides the earth into two parts. The equator crosses 13 countries in the world and this altitude measures 0 degrees. This latitude park divides the park into the southern and northern sectors. The equator monument in queen Elizabeth national park was destroyed to expand the Kasese road, this imaginary line is located in Kikorongo.

It is located in northern of mweya peninsular. Lake Katwe it where salt is mined which is an economic activity for the local people around the lake, and it is the only in Uganda with salt.

Lake Munyanyange is located closer to the town of lake Katwe though it is hidden, when conditions of weather are okay this small and shallow lake is a bird sanctuary. It is a migrating destination for the flamingos in the months of august to November.
