Driving from Nairobi city takes 2.5hours to Meshananai gate via Nairobi route. If you choose to use Kimana gate takes a distance of 228 kilometers a route which passes through a small town Emali to Mombasa route leading to the eastern region of the park.
You can decide to drive to Amboseli national park using Isinya route a distance of 240 kilometers that leads from magadi road in Nairobi, this route can also join Nairobi-Arusha route passing through Namanga town. From Namaga town to Meshananai gate takes 45 minutes to 1 hour, you taking 1 hour depends on heavy traffic jam on this route.
While using road transport to Amboseli national park, you can opt to use a private or public means of transport. By public means of transport, you can use bus companies that offers daily drives to Loitoktok town. Then from Loitoktok town you either get a matatu or a cab for a drive in order to reach the main destination’ ’Amboseli’’ taking 1 hour or use private vehicles to the park is more comfortable when you decide to use other means of transport, as you drive from the Nairobi to one of Amboseli gate.

By Air
Travelers can opt to use a domestic flight to get to Amboseli national park, through various flight companies that offers daily chartered flights from Wilson Airport or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Amboseli Airport. Companies that offers domestic chartered flights to Amboseli national park include; Air Kenya flying from Nairobi, Safari link flying from Nairobi and Tsavo west and Mombasa Air Safari flying from Mombasa, Masai mar, Malindi and Diana beach.
