Cultural Sites and Safaris in Uganda : Cultural sites mean facilities for the performing arts, exhibits   cultural history and norms of the ancient .in these cultural sites there are symbols of cultural identity, pride, reminding Ugandans and specific tribes of Uganda their roots and the shared history that unites them. These cultural sites include neighbourhoods, parks, farms, places of worship, ranches, cultural landscapes and so forth. Uganda museum. the Uganda Museum is located in the heart of Kampala, it is the largest and the oldest museum in Uganda, it was established in1908. the Uganda museum displays Uganda’s cultural heritage where one can see historical exhibitions, a vivid remind of Uganda’s colourful past. the main attractions at this museum are drums and xylophones which were used by African traditional story tellers, there are items like ebyanzi (milk pots made from wood, bead work, basketry, ceramics, leather works, cutlery, musical instruments ad many others, The east African residents pay five thousand shillings while international residents pay seven thousand shillings.

Namugongo martyrs’ shrine: this site is popularly known as it brings the memory of 30 Ugandan Catholics and protestants who were burnt on 3rd June 1889 on the orders of the then kabaka. This is a holy pilgrim site both Catholics and protestants and so tourists come to these memorials.

Bigo bya mugenyi: This tourist attraction is associated with the Bachwezi dynasty and it dates back to the 14th-16th centuries. It consists of enclosures, tunnels, earthworks

 Nkokojeru tombs: it is located in Kakiika Mbarara and contains the burial grounds of the remains of the last two kings of Ankole kingdom that is to say Omugabe Edward Solomon kahaya II and

Nyero rock paintings: These serve as tourists’ attractions for people interested in rock art. These tourist attractions are located in Kumi district in the eastern region of Uganda.

Naggalabi sites: This is the official sites inn Buganda where the kings of Buganda kingdom are crowned. This site is located in Wakiso district on the infamous Budo hill. This tourist attraction has been in existence as far back as the 14th century.

Igongo cultural centre: After the kingdom of Ankole was invaded by a foreign king about 500 years ago, Igongo cultural centre was built to celebrate the king’s retreat due to an eclipse that struck fear in his heart. Tourists normally visit the place to learn about the old ways of Nkore and the cultural norms of the Banyankore.

Kings’ palace bulange: This is the official palace and residence of the king ‘KABAKA’ of Buganda which is located in Mengo. It was once attacked by Idi Amin due to the political turmoil between the UPC government and the kingdom of Buganda.

Itaaba kyabanyoro: It is believed that this is the place where the last known king of the Ankole kingdom Wamala crafted the legendary and sacred Bagyendanwa Royal drum of the Ankole kingdom which is considered the right of command and leadership of the kings of Ankole.

Uganda cathedrals: St Paul cathedral Namirembe is of the oldest churches built in 1903, it is an Anglican faith church. there is also sacred place Rubaga cathedral which was constructed in 1880 and it belongs to the roman faith. these cathedrals hold offices of two Christians denominations

Bahai temple: the temple founded in Uganda is the only temple in Africa supporting Bahai faith. the architecture and stunning Greenland which is on land of like 30 hectares and the temple is a unique attraction for travellers.

Nnamasole baagalayaze and kanyange tombs: These are across the Suuna Wamala t6ombs, they are the grounds that hold the last remains of Nnamasole Kanyange the mother of SSekabaka Suuna II. They play an important role in the rituals and ceremonies of the Buganda kingdom since they house a sacred drum used by culturalists to summon the spirit of Suuna II.

 Ndere troupe centre: This tourist attraction is located in the central region of Uganda in Bukoto. It acts as a tourist attraction for people interested in cultural songs and dances from the numerous tribes of Uganda which include the Banyankore, Baganda, Acholi, Basoga and many more

Katereke prison ditch: This tourist attraction is regarded by many as the image of the violent and dangerous past of the Buganda kingdom and it is located on Masaka road in the Buddo area. It is believed that the then kabaka of Buganda kingdom kabaka Kirema ordered for the digging of this ditch to imprison his siblings for fear that they would rise up and usurp his kingdom from him which eventually led to their deaths due to the inhumane living conditions they experienced while trapped in the circular ditch.

The prison was established by Kabaka Kalema who acquired the Baganda in 1888. He used to put those inside the prison whom he thought would become threats to his throne .so tourists go to see that historical attachment of the prison.

Kasubi tombs: the Kasubi tombs are the burial grounds of the former Kabakas (Buganda kings) and other members of the Baganda royal family. Tourists get to visit the tombs

Kabaka ‘s lake: covering about 5 acres just on the outskirts of the city, this lake was created in 1880 during the reign of kabaka Mwanga  and offers great destinations for birding  and fishing .

Nakayima tree shrine: This cultural and tourist site is close to the hearts of the people of Mubende district. It is believed that those who go and pray from the site are showered with blessings and solutions to their problems.

Wamala tombs: This protected and treasured heritage site in Uganda which are the burial site of SSekabaka Suuna II is located in Nabweru Wakiso district.
