Buhoma Haven Lodge also known as Buhoma community haven lodge is one of the best Midrange Lodge situated in Buhoma village thus the best accommodation for travelers who wish to enjoy a village walk after the breath taking gorilla trekking experience. Buhoma Haven lodge is mostly used by travelers on their gorilla trekking adventure in Buhoma sector the first sector to be opened up for gorilla trekking safari in Uganda and it is situated in the Northern part of Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the largest population of the endangered mountain Gorillas in the whole world. Buhoma Haven lodge is located near to the park headquarters and is easily accessed from the main road about 5 minutes’ drive and is strategically positioned offering clear views of the Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
Buhoma Haven lodge was opened in the year 2014 in December as a way of creating something that is more than budget with the help of Buhoma Mukono Community Development Association (BMCDA) who constructed this stunning lodge to provide better accommodation for the travelers that wish to have a more beautiful stay than the budget option (Buhoma Community Rest Camp). In other words, Buhoma Haven lodge closes the gap between the Budget lodge (Buhoma Community Rest Camp) and the luxury (Buhoma lodge) thus offering affordable rates for travelers who need something that is less expensive and yet stunning.
From the time of opening up to date, Buhoma Haven lodge has been the best choice for Mid-range tourists and it offers the best amenities with best services within and around their facility. The lodge has the well trained and behaved staff members that offer the highest customer care at any given period of time.
Buhoma haven lodge consists of 3 beautiful self-contained cottages, 1 family cottage, 6 twins /double cottages, 2 non-self-contained twin Bandas, camps and many more. The cottages are all constructed with a local African touch and have wide verandahs where tourists can chill in the evening overlooking the Impenetrable forest of Bwindi after a tiring trek to encounter with endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. On a lucky day, visitors can have a glance at the some mammals that normally visit the lodge including the Gorillas though not a guarantee. The Bandas are as well made using the local materials and with a feel of African architectural design making the entire lodge very unique and beautiful in its own way. All roams are well maintained and facilitated with both hot and cold water and flushing toilets.
Buhoma Haven lodge provides the best and quality meals in their restaurant including breakfast, lunch and dinner depending on the time of stay at their facilities. Dinner is always served with a 5 course meal with a combination of both the Western and western dishes with a blend of an African cuisine including fruits, Vegetables, and species all locally produced here in Uganda the pearl of Africa.
While on a dining table for dinner, visitors have a variety to pick from including Egg Soufflé, fresh mushroom soup, Lamb Nansama, pan-seared tilapia fish, Swedish potatoes, roasted potatoes, strawberry tart, Spinach, Rice, chapatti and many more as well as a variety for the vegans and vegetarians like saucy mixed vegetables. There are lots of drinks including coffee, chocolate, tea and many more depending on the choice of the tourist.

Getting there
You have 2 options of getting to Buhoma Haven lodge. Either by road or by air.
By road:Since the lodge is situated in northern part of Bwindi impenetrable national park, taking a road transportation from Kampala takes about 8 hours with a stopover at the Equator and in Mbarara for lunch break.
By air: You as well may take a flight either from Kajansi or Entebbe international airport to Kihihi airstrip then connect on a road transfer to the lodge.
