You will get to visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south western Uganda for mountain gorilla trekking and the source of the nile in Jinja for white water rafting.
This 6 Days Uganda Gorillas & White Water Rafting safari adventure takes you into the World Heritage Site of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of the mountain gorillas. Our ape cousins live throughout the forest so a variety of enchanting journeys are available through the primeval forest during your mountain gorilla safari in Uganda. If booked under our Uganda group tours, this package has to be booked way in advance because of limited availability of flights.
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport on this first day of your 6 Days Gorillas & Rafting safari, a safari guide from our Uganda tour company will pick you up from Entebbe International airport and transfer you to Boma Hotel Entebbe (15 min drive). Overnight: Boma Hotel Entebbe. Meal plan: BB.
Day 2: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
We will transfer you from your accommodation at 6.15am to Entebbe International Airport for your flight to the south western part of Uganda. An Aerolink member of staff will assist you with the check in and transfer to your 07:45 am (arrival 09:30 am) or 12:30 pm (arrival 13:45 pm) domestic flight to either Kisoro or Kihihi airstrip. Enjoy the one hour scenic flight. Upon arrival you will be met by the driver for a 2 hours drive to your gorilla safari lodge. Optional afternoon community walks, canoeing available. Day 3: Gorilla tracking
Certainly one of the most exciting days of your 6 Days Gorillas & Rafting safari. Today you will be gorilla trekking. Breakfast will be served early and lunch will be packed. The briefing is at 8 am. Your guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking.
The hike can take anything from one to seven hours. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Once you reach the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away. Upon completion of this magical encounter we will drive you back to the lodge where you can relax in the afternoon or go for another walk to visit one of the communities around. Day 4: Transfer to Jinja for White Water Rafting. (2 hours)
Early in the morning after breakfast we will drive you down to airstrip to depart for Entebbe. Upon arrival in Entebbe, we will transfer you to Jinja, pass by Kampala capital of Uganda, proceed to Jinja, visit source of the Nile and do sun set cruise. Overnight: The Haven Lodge. Meal plan: FB.
Day 5: After Rafting, Transfer back to Kampala. (2 Hours)
Early in the morning after breakfast, full day white water rafting and in evening, you drive back to Kampala. Overnight: Forest Cottages. Meal plan: FB.
Day 6: Mabamba Bay – Canoe riding and transfer to the Airport
Early in the morning after breakfast, do half day shopping in Kampala Art Crafts, and after transfer to Mabamba Bay for canoe riding, bird viewing experience including seeing the shoebill stork!. Then return to Entebbe and drop off at the Airport for your flight back home.
