5 Days Uganda chimpanzee and wildlife safari

This 5 Days chimpanzee and wildlife safari  takes you to two of Uganda’s virgin safari destinations. These are Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Kidepo Valley National Park.

Day 1: Arrival & Entebbe tour

Following arrival at Entebbe airport, our company representative together with your guide will be waiting to pick you up and transfer to the pier for a boat to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary for the Chimpanzee trekking experience. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will be directed to the visitor’s center where you will be given an introduction to the project, its history, residents and their plight.

5 Days chimpanzee and wildlife safari

You will receive an educational orientation by a chimpanzee caregiver and view a feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitors’ raised platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence. Enjoy lunch and a get on the return boat back to Entebbe where you will be met and transferred to Kampala. Dinner and overnight at Forest cottages.

Day 2: Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park

  • Transfer to Kidepo national park: As clearly stated in the above about the time travelling to Kidepo Valley National Park, this will most definitely be a long journey. However, the drive will be accompanied with a lot of scenic viewing and sightseeing. You will be picked by our representative and your guide very early in the morning as the trip should start by 5am. You will most definitely have lunch en-route that will be coupled with a lot of stopovers to stretch your legs and relax the muscles. You will arrive at Kidepo Valley National Park in approximately 13 hours. You will arrive late in the evening and all you will do is check in your Accommodation, have your dinner and have a good night sleep.

Day 3: Game Drive with Cultural encounter

  • Game drive : Early morning game drive with viewing the park’s endowed diversity of wildlife such as elephants, leopard, warthogs, ostriches, buffaloes, giraffes and lions and continue to bird watching in the Narus Valley e.t.c Some of the beautiful birds you will be seeing are the Abyssinian Roller, Purple Heron, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill and Clapperton’s which is found only in Kidepo valley. After the game drive, you will return to the camp where you will have lunch rest and later go for an evening cultural tour to interact with the Karamojong community.
  • Cultural tour:Here you will get an opportunity of seeing how the locals go about their day today lives from the activities that keep them occupied all day every day to their cultural practices. You will most definitely realize why most Africans are reluctant to completely giving up on their traditional practices. You will later return to the lodge/hotel for your dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Nature Walk with an Evening Game Drive

  • Nature Walk: Today very early in the morning, you will have your breakfast and head out for Nature walk experience coupled with a brief drive to the Kanangorok Hot Springs. You will pass some magnificent landscapes and rocky outcrops. Chances are you will get to see some ostriches as they are often seen in this part of the park. You should later return to the Hotel/ Lodge and have your lunch, there after rest and relax a bit as you get ready for your evening game drive.
  • Game Drive:The game drive will take less than 3 hours as you will be looking out for the wildlife as they retire for the day as well. When the game drive is done, you will drive back to your accommodation, relax, have your dinner and get ready for your departure the next morning.

Day 5: Kidepo National Park back to Kampala

  • Depart for Kampala: Depart the park very early in the morning and arrive Kampala late evening with lunch en-route and stopovers to stretch out! Drop-off will be at your hotel in Kampala / Entebbe or at the airport for your onward flight.

Travel Time: Approximately 13 Hours
Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch.
