5 days Uganda birding safari is a one-week Uganda adventure suitable for birders, as it takes you to the most important birding areas (IBAs) in the Pearl of Africa while spotting different bird species, including migratory birds and resident birds that thrive in different parts of the country, including Entebbe, where you will visit UWEC, Entebbe Botanical Garden, and Mabamba Swamp, then head to Mabira Forest and finally Murchison Falls National Park.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and hotel transfer
Arrival: Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport on day 1 of a 5-day Uganda birding safari tour, you will be met with our experienced birding guide, who will pick you up, brief you about this 5-day birding adventure and transfer you to the hotel in Entebbe for check-in, dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 2: Birding in UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Education Center) and Entebbe botanical garden
Birding in UWEC and Entebbe Botanical Garden: After breakfast on day 2 of 5 days of your Uganda birding safari tour, your driver will be ready to take you to UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Education Center), where you will start your birding adventure with an opportunity of spotting several bird species, including weaver birds, flycatchers, raptors, African Fish Eagle and many more. After birding in UWEC, proceed to the Entebbe Botanical Garden to proceed with a fascinating birding adventure where more bird species will be spotted.

Day 3: Heritage Trail birding
Heritage trail: After breakfast on day 3 of a 5 days Uganda birding safari tour, you will be driven from your lodge to the heritage trail to proceed with your birding adventure with a chance of watching more bird species, including the black cuckoo shrike, mustached warbler, yellow bill, great sparrow hawk, and cuckoo shrike, among others.
Proceed to the beach for a relaxed lunch and enjoy a boat cruise to search for more bird species like the papyrus canary, Papyrus Gonolek and many more. Later in the evening, you will retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 4: Birding in Mabamba Swamp and transfer to Kampala
Mabamba Swamp birding and drive to Kampala: After breakfast on day 4 of 5 days of the Uganda birding safari tour, check out of the lodge with a packed lunch and meet your birding guide, who will lead you into Mabamba Swamp with a golden opportunity of spotting several bird species, including the rare shoebill stork and other water birds that thrive in this swamp. In fact, Mabamba Swamp is also listed amongst the Important Birding Areas in Uganda.
The best way to enjoy birding in Mabamba Swamp is by opting for a canoe ride deep into the swamp. You will as well spot Goliath, plovers, pygmy geese, ducks, weaver birds, African jacanas, papyrus Gonolek and many more. After birding in Mabamba Swamp, you will enjoy a picnic lunch and proceed with the drive to Kampala, where you will spend the night.

Day 5: Birding safari in Mabira National Forest Reserve
Birding in Mabira: After breakfast on day 5 of 5 days of the Uganda birding safari tour, check out of the lodge, ready for a transfer to Mabira National Forest Reserve to proceed with your birding adventure in Uganda. Mabira Forest is one of the natural forests that thrive in Uganda and harbors several species of birds as well as other wildlife species that will be seen during birding. Among bird species to look out for include greenbul, woodpecker, barbet, tinkerbird, kingfisher, weaver birds, starling and many more. Return to Kampala/Entebbe for departures.
