The 5 Days Mgahinga National Park adventure is an amazing safari that takes you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in southwestern Uganda, where you can engage in gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking, allowing you to spend time with the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in their natural habitat.
You will also engage in hiking activity where you will hike Mount Sabyinyo one of the three extinct volcanoes in Mgahinga gorilla national park

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park
Depending on your location on the first day of the 5 days Mgahinga national park adventure, you will be welcomed by our driver guide, who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Mgahinga gorilla national park. On the way, you will enjoy stunning views and have a stopover at the Equator, where you will buy souvenirs and take photos.
From the Equator, you will proceed to Mgahinga gorilla national park with an en-route lunch and stunning views of the Kigezi hills and terraced farmlands, among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience
On the second day of the Uganda Gorilla Safari, you will have breakfast and carry your packed lunch to go for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest, which takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking, you will be able to view other primates, different bird species, and plant and tree species, among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their environment, where you will have the opportunity to learn about their habits, watch them feed, breastfeed, play, groom young ones, take photos, and record videos to show people back home after the safari.
After the encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking experience
On the third day, you will have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to go for a golden monkey briefing. After the briefing, you will begin trekking in the forest to search for the golden monkeys, which can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on their location, as they tend to move around in search of food. During trekking, you will be able to view other primates, different bird species, and plant and tree species among others and once the golden monkeys are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their environment, where you will get an opportunity to learn about their habits, watch them play, carry out daily activities, take photos and record videos. After the one hour with the golden monkeys, you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch, whereafter you will spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Hiking Mount Sabyinyo
On the fourth day of the Uganda Wildlife Tour, you will have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about hiking mount Sabyinyo. After the briefing, you will start hiking mount Sabyinyo with the experienced park guide and rangers. The volcanic mountain is 12,037 feet high and it takes about 6-9 hours to hike, depending on your level of fitness. During the hike, you will be able to spot various animals, birds, and plant species. Upon reaching the summit, you will enjoy views of Lake Bunyonyi, the Rwenzori peaks, and other Virunga mountains. Additionally, you will be standing in three countries—Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo—simultaneously.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala/Entebbe
On the last day of the 5-day Mgahinga National Park adventure, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver-guide for the transfer back to Kampala, with stops along the way. You will then proceed to Kampala, arriving in the early evening. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of advice.
