Our 2 days Maasai Mara Safari looks to be a short safari tour package but a very unforgettable life experience in the jungle of Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Maasai Mara National Reserve is renowned as the top safari destination in Kenya and among the few most visited safari destinations worldwide especially for tourists seeking to be part of the great annual migration wildebeest event and other astonishing tourist attractions.
Day 1: Pickup from Nairobi – Transfer to the Maasai Mara – Afternoon game drive
On day 1 of the 2 days Maasai Mara Safari, you will be picked up after breakfast from your hotel in Nairobi early in the morning around (6:00 am) to start the journey to the Mara. The driver will brief you about the safari and what it entails. The journey takes you through Narok town and the great East African Rift Valley using the Nakuru highway. There will be short breaks for refreshment and also to have one of the beautiful views of the Great Rift Valley. The Great Rift Valley is a natural wonder stretching from Mozambique in Southern Africa all the way to the Middle East.
You will be able to see a lot of the Maasai people while traversing Narok country. You can adventure them by grazing their animals and going about their daily business. Arrive at the lodge (around midday), check-in, refresh, and have lunch.
After relaxation, the driver/Guide will then embark on an afternoon game drive. This game drive takes you through the reserve to look at animals like cheetahs, lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, warthogs, waterbucks, reed-bucks, and much more. If you visit between July and October, you will be able to experience great wildebeest migration, zebras, Thompson’s gazelle, impala, baboons, hyena, jackals, bat-eared foxes, baboons, warthog, Grant’s gazelle, crocodiles, eland and hippos among others. By the end of the game drive at 6:00 pm, you would have seen all the Big 5 mammals and many more. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Visit the Maasai People and transfer back to Nairobi
After having a relaxed breakfast and then head to the Maasai local people for a cultural visit where you will learn more about these people’s fascinating culture, be entertained by local dances and drama, and much more. Later, embark on a journey back to Nairobi with lunch along the way, you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
