Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and Drive to Kibale national park
Upon arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will meet your guide who will welcome you and brief you shortly about your safari. After your briefing, you will start your drive to Kibale national park, which will take about 5 to 6 hours’ drive. You will arrive late at you lodge and check in for dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee forest Lodge for mid-range/Kibale Forest Lodge for budget option
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
After breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about your chimpanzee trekking activity before proceeding into Kibale forest where you will search for chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will enjoy seeing chimpanzees among the trees as well as other primate species like black and white colobus monkeys. After your chimpanzee trekking experience, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Later afternoon, take a nature walk to Bigodi swamp and be rewarded with views of different bird species and some of the available primates with en-route visit of crater lakes before you return to your booked lodge for evening relaxation and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
After breakfast, check out and embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park, which is about 6-7 hours’ drive. En-route Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park for chances of seeing the tree-climbing lions and en-route lunch. Proceed to Bwindi national park and upon arrival, check-in your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven lodge – mid-range/Buhoma community Rest Camp for budget/ Mahogany Springs Lodge for luxury
Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community tour
After breakfast at your lodge, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a short briefing before trekking into the Bwindi impenetrable forest in search of the gorillas. You will trek through forested and steep hills as your search for the gorillas and you will spend about 1 hour with the gorillas. After your gorilla trekking activity, you will meet your guide and return to your lodge.
You will have an optional Batwa community tour where you will interact with the local community and get to know more about their ways of life and their culture. Dinner and overnight at lodge as above
Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe (8-9 hours’ drive) – Fly to Tanzania
You will start your day with breakfast at your lodge in Bwindi national park as you prepare to drive to Entebbe. You will have a stopover at the equator where you will enjoy photography and visit the craft shops and also watch the experiments at the equator. You will also have an en-route lunch before proceeding to Entebbe where you connect to the airport for your evening flight to Tanzania.
Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro airport, meet with your driver and transfer to booked hotel in Arusha. Dinner and overnight stay at Burka Coffee Lodge for budget/Tulia Boutique Hotel for mid-range
Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti national park
After breakfast, set off to Serengeti national park with your packed lunch. It’s a 7-8 hours’ drive through Karatu and Ngorongoro conservation area with stopovers for sightseeing (Lake Manyara view point and Ngorongoro crater view point), visit the Olduvia gorge and proceed to Serengeti national park. Upon arrival late afternoon, connect for an evening en-route game drive before your check-in at your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Osinon Camps and Lodges/Serengeti Heritages Camp for mid-range
Day 7 and 8: Full day Serengeti national park
Have early breakfast, get parked lunch and go for a full day game drive we start from far North around the Mara river in case you came on the opposite month when the migration will start from Serengeti national park after missing it from Mara Kenya side now this will be you turn to enjoy the best. Spend the whole day looking for these animals like Hippos, Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Lions, Hyenas, Cheetahs, Antelopes, Hartebeest, zebras mention but a few. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at lodge as above
Day 9: Explore Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, check-out of the lodge and drive back to Ngorongoro Conservation area with your packed lunch, it’s about 4 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, descend into the Ngorongoro crater to explore most of the animals from in the crater. The crater is 600m down the crater. It’s much famous as one of the biggest volcanic calderas in the world, it occupies over 1 million animals with all the big five including the rare black rhino present. Other animals include Lions, leopards, cheetahs, Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, zebras and others. Later evening, ascend from the crater and connect to your booked lodge in Karatu. Day 10: Drive to back Arusha – Departure
After breakfast, check-out early and embark on your journey to Arusha which is a 3-4 hours’ drive with en-route lunch. Upon arrival, you will either be dropped off at a location you advise or be dropped off at the airport for your onward evening flight back home marking the end of the safari.
