Arcadia Cottages in Lake Mburo national park sits 2 kilometers way from the park headquarters at Rwonyo which is an ideal base from which visitors explore the park on a game drive, spot crocodiles and hippo on the launch trip as well as getting close to nature on a guided walking safari.
This safari accommodation has eight selves – contained cottages well arranged around a central lodge building, even where guests can enjoy the tasty dishes from their restaurant or relax and take advantage of amazing view from this newly built raised deck.
While in the evening, guests can sweep down from their remarkable day’s safari around our open fire, sipping on a cold drink from the bar as you have a stunning view of impala, warthogs and occasional hippo munch on the grass just yards away.
However, Lake Mburo national park is a truly humbling safari destination and well worth visiting. The park hosts over 13 lakes and the largest of all is Lake Mburo itself that connects to the swamplands which are home to hippos, crocodiles among others wildlife species to see in the park. Meanwhile, the savannah plains and acacia woodland are the only location in Uganda to explore the elegant impala while eland and Burchell’s zebra can only be seen here and the far remote destination of Kidepo Valley National Park. Lake Mburo national park is home of few big fives, of all buffalo are plentiful and leopard are regularly seen and lion were once extinct in the park. Lake Mburo national park is one of the best location offering walking safaris and a place in Africa’s with most majestic scenery and wildlife on foot.

Game drives
While on game drive safari in Lake Mburo national park, you can be able to view variety of animals such as impalas, zebras, hyenas, zebras, waterbucks, reedbucks, crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs but leopards are often seen on game drive and sometime can be sighted on night game drive.
Horse riding safaris
The park offers horseback riding safaris where tourists engage in and get a closer view of wildlife, tour around the nature which is more interesting than the one in a car.
Boat cruise
Lake Mburo national park is composed of five lakes and lake Mburo being the main where boat cruise is carried out and be able to cruise close to water species like crocodiles and hippos.
Guided nature walk
This activity is best enjoyed in the morning hours as you can be able to encounter hippos wallowing and hyenas returns back in their dens.
Birding
The park is a good location for birding since it hosts over 350 species of birds and some of the birds to see include; white headed barbet, red faced barbet, African kingfisher, African fin foot mentioned but few.
