Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up Kigali – Transfer to DR. Congo – Bukavu
Start your safari with pick up from your hotel in Kigali or at Airport by our safari driver guide. Depart to Nyungwe National Park from Kigali takes 7 hours with thrilling views with stops for picnic lunch and refreshment.
Proceed to cross through Cyangugu border after your immigration process. Continue to Bukavu town ‘’the nearest town to Kahuzi Biega National Park in Democratic Republic of Congo. Upon arrival at the park, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Orchids Safari Club Hotel.

Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking
Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel, after you will be transferred at the park headquarter for the briefing. After the briefing, head on your trekking experience of the Eastern lowland gorillas. As your trekking, expect to see other species like birds and primates. On finding them, you will be allowed an hour to spend with gorillas, learn about their habit and how they survive in the forest as well as video capturing. After your gorilla experience, descend to meet your driver to connect you your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe national park
After having a cup of an aroma coffee or tea at the lodge, cross back to Rwanda. The journey that covers 3 to 4 hours drive from Bukavu to Nyungwe Forest. Enjoy lunch at the lodge. Proceed to check into your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Nziza Eco -Lodge
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk
Enjoy a delicious breakfast served at the lodge, before heading for chimpanzee trekking briefing at the park headquarter. After briefing, take a step into forest trail in search of these great apes. Once chimps are found, you will spend one hour viewing and capture videos.
In the afternoon, you will embark on canopy walk to experience bird eye viewing of the forest, birds while walking through trails. You can imagine walking a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees and beauty of the nature. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge above.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali city (6-7 hours’ drive)
Enjoy breakfast, before heading back to Kigali City. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at any convenience place.
