This 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari is an amazing safari that starts from Kigali Rwanda and ends in Tanzania. The safari will take you to Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro conservation area where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, zebras, lions, leopards, warthogs, elands, gazelle, giraffes, wildebeests, cheetahs, dik dik, lions, leopards among others during the game drives. The 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari will also take you to Volcanoes national park where you will be able to spend time with the endangered mountain gorillas during gorilla trekking experience.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes national park
Depending on your location in Kigali on the first day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari, you will be welcomed by a driver guide from Achieve Global Safaris who will brief you about the safari and then go for a city tour in Kigali where you will be able to visit the genocide memorial centre, Kimironko market, art centres among others. After the city tour, you will have lunch and later start the journey to Volcanoes national park. Upon arriva, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park

After an early breakfast on the second day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari, you will carry your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be divided in groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and an experienced park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on their location and during trekking you will be able to view forest birds, other primate species, plant and tree species among others.
Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them which gives you a chance to learn more about their behaviors, habits, take photos, watch them carry out their daily activities and record the incredible memories to show people back home. After the one hour with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your guide to return to the lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali for your flight to Kilimanjaro international airport
On the third day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari, you will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and later transfer to Kigali international airport for your departure flight to Kilimanjaro international airport. Upon arrival, you will meet up with our driver guide to transfer to the hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area-walking safari
After breakfast on the fourth day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari, you will check out of the hotel with your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area. On the way, you will have a stopover for lunch and upon arrival, you will proceed to the conservation area for a guided walking safari on the crater rim where you will view animals like giraffes, zebras at a close range, listen to sweet sounds of bird species singing in trees among others. After the walking safari, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Ngorongoro crater drive and transfer to Serengeti national park
After an early breakfast on the fifth day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a drive in the Ngorongoro crater where you will descent 600 meters into the crater for a game drive. During the game drive, you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, dik dik, leopards, lions, hyenas among others. You will also be able to view different bird species like flamingos, pelicans, ducks among others.
After the crater drive, you will transfer to Serengeti national park with amazing views of the highland, landscape, wildlife and a picnic lunch. Upon arrival, you will have a game drive as you proceed to your lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6&7: Full day game drives Serengeti national park, Hot air balloon
On day 6 and 7 of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari, you will have an early breakfast and then transfer to Central Serengeti for a full day game drive where you will be able to spot animals like lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, gazelle, jackals, hippos, elands, topi, wildebeest, view different bird species among others. You will also have a picnic lunch in the park and later continue with the game drive where after you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Departure to Arusha
On the last day of the 8 days Rwanda gorillas and Tanzania safari, you will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Arusha with views of wildlife on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the Kilimanjaro airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
