This 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari is an exciting safari that starts from Uganda and ends in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The safari will take you to different destinations in Tanzania including Zanzibar where you will relax and enjoy the beach experience, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro conservation area where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, zebras, lions, leopards, warthogs, elands, gazelle, giraffes, wildebeests, cheetahs, dik dik, lions, leopards among others during the game drives. The 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari will also take you to Bwindi impenetrable national park in the western part of Uganda which is known for harbouring the endangered mountain gorillas that will be viewed during gorilla trekking experience.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Depending on your location in Kampala/Entebbe on day 1 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will be welcomed by a representative from Achieve Global Safaris who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Bwindi’s impenetrable national park. On the way, you will have a stopover at the Equator where you will buy souvenirs, take photos and then proceed with another stopover in Mbarara for en-route lunch. After lunch, you will continue the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park and upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking,
After an early breakfast on day 2 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will carry your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on their location and during trekking you will be able to view forest birds, other primate species, plant and tree species among others.
Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be able to spend one hour with them which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their lifestyle, behaviors, habits, take photos, watch them carry out their daily activities and record the fascinating memories to show people back home. After a breath-taking encounter with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your guide to return to the lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
On day 3 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. On the way, you will have a stopover for en-route lunch and then proceed to Kibale Forest National Park with great views of the farmlands, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations, Lake Gorge, crater lakes among others. Upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking experience and Bigodi swamp

After an early breakfast on day 4 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be allocated an experienced park guide who is well conversant with trails in the forest and start trekking in the forest which takes about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, birds, and plants among others. Once the chimpanzees are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which helps you to learn about their behaviors, watch them feed, breastfeed, fight, rest, take photos and record videos. After the face-to-face encounter with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide to return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an interesting Bigodi swamp walk where you will enjoy great views of primates, bird species, plant and tree species among others. After the Bigodi swamp walk, you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala/ Entebbe
After breakfast on day 5 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala. On the way, you will have a stopover for lunch and then proceed to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Departure flight to Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to a hotel in Arusha
On day 6 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Entebbe international airport for your departure flight to Kilimanjaro international airport. Upon arrival, you will meet up with our driver guide to transfer to the hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area-walking safari
After breakfast on day 7 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will check out of the hotel with your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the Ngorongoro conservation area. On the way, you will have a stopover for lunch and upon arrival, you will proceed to the conservation area for a guided walking safari on the crater rim where you will view animals like giraffes, zebras at a close range, listen to sweet sounds of bird species singing in trees among others. After the walking safari, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Ngorongoro crater drive, Maasai Bomas visit
After an early breakfast on day 8 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a drive in the Ngorongoro crater where you will descent 600 meters into the crater for a game drive. During the game drive, you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, dik dik, leopards, lions, hyenas among others. You will also be able to view different bird species like flamingos, pelicans, ducks among others.
After the crater drive, you will go for an interesting Maasai Bomas where you will be able to interact with the local people, learn about their tradition, culture, lifestyle, way of living, listen to their ancient stories, and enjoy their traditional entertainment among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Serengeti National Park en route game drive
On day 9 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge, check out with your packed lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Serengeti National Park. On the way you will have amazing views of the highland, landscape, wildlife and a picnic lunch. Upon arrival, you will have a game drive as you proceed to your lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 10&11: Full day game drives Serengeti National Park, Hot air balloon
On day 10 and 11 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have an early breakfast and then transfer to Central Serengeti for a full day game drive where you will be able to spot animals like lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, gazelle, jackals, hippos, elands, topi, wildebeest, view different bird species among others. You will also have a picnic lunch in the park and later continue with the game drive where after you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Departure Flight to Zanzibar
On day 12 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge, check out and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Arusha with views of wildlife on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the airport for your departure flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport and driven to your hotel for check in and relaxation. Dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 13: Prison Island, Stone town and Spice Tour
After breakfast on day 13 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will take a private boat from your hotel in Stone town to Changuu Island or Prison Island where you will enjoy learning about the history and also seeing the old Giant tortoises. You will take a boat back from Changuu Island to Stone town for lunch. After lunch, you will go for a city tour in Stone Town and later go for a spice tour as you explore the plantations where you will see different exotic spices and also get to buy and know the uses of the spices like cloves, cinnamon nutmeg among others. After the spice tour, you will transfer to Nungwe and upon arrival, you will check you’re your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Safari blue experience
On day 14 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel to go for the amazing safari blue experience where you will enjoy the best boat tour on the island, sailing in the beautiful traditional Dhows. You will enjoy a boat ride, beautiful scenery, clear and safe water, enjoy delicious sea food and drinks, fresh tropical fruits and snacks, snorkelling and also visit Menai Bay. After the experience, you will be driven back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 15: Zanzibar Beach Experience and swim with turtles
On day 15 of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will have breakfast at leisure and then transfer to Baraka Aquarium where you will be able to swim with the turtles. Later return to the hotel for lunch and have a day to relax at the white sand beaches of Zanzibar Island and enjoy views of the Indian Ocean. Dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 16: Departure
After breakfast on the last day of the 16 days Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the Zanzibar airport where you will be dropped off for your departure flight which brings your safari to an end.
