Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale National Park
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport with an early flight/Depending on your location in Entebbe/Kampala, you will meet your safari driver who will drive to Kibale National Park – the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. With en-route lunch. Proceed to the park and check-in at your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Lodge for budget/Chimpanzee Forest Lodge for mid-range/Chimpundu Lodge for luxury
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking experience and Bigodi swamp tour
Wake up early and drive to Kibale Forest to the briefing point before you head in the forest in search of the exuberant chimpanzee’s groups in the Kibale forest. Tracking chimpanzees in their natural habitat as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, is a thrilling experience. Though they can be difficult to spot, you will be in no doubt of their presence as the forest is alive with their noisy calls. Spend an hour in their presence.
After trekking, go for a swamp walk in Bigodi swamp – one of the richest swamps with birds and primates like Baboons, red-tailed monkey, Black and white monkey among others. Diner and overnight at lodge as above
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
After breakfast, check-in and embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park (home of Uganda Mountain Gorillas). It’s about 6-7 hours’ drive with en-route game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park Ishasha sector for chances of spotting the tree climbing lions and other animals. Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience and Batwa experience
Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day. On finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates, enjoy your lunch packs and meet your driver / guide and transfer back to your lodge.
The time after trekking will be spent on a Batwa community tour, learn about the life style of the pygmies of Uganda who lived in the park before the park was gazette as a national park, return to the lodge for relaxation as you savoir the memories of your gorilla trek in Bwindi. Day 5: Transfer back to Entebbe
You will enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Kampala/Entebbe arriving in late afternoon. You will be drop off at the hotel in Horizon Hotel for budget/Best Western Garden Hotel for mid-range/Entebbe Protea Hotel for luxury
Note: To avoid the 8-10 hours’ drive from Entebbe to Bwindi depending on the gorilla sector of trekking, you can opt for a domestic flight at an extra cost.
Day 6: Fly to Kenya (Own booked flight) – Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park
After breakfast, depart to Entebbe airport for onward booked flight to Kenya Nairobi.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta airport, meet your safari guide to transfer to Lake Nakuru national park. Lake Nakuru national park is best known for its large masses of flamingo birds. It’s a 5-6 hours’ drive with en-route lunch. On arrival at the park, connect to your lodge to refresh, relax, and have dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge for mid-range option/ Punda Milias Tented Camp for budget/Sarova Hill Lodge for luxury
Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Masai Mara national reserve
After breakfast, connect for a morning game drive before you proceed your journey to Masai Mara national reserve, which is along the floor of the magnificent rift valley for unlimited game drive and land of the Masai people, en-route lunch and Masai community market where you will can buy masai products like jewellery, clothing and other products. Day 8: Full day in Masai Mara
After breakfast, connect for a full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents. The Masai Mara plains are full of wildebeest during migration season early July to end September however, they are not guaranteed to view, zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle are regularly seen, the leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes can also be seen. Black rhino is a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River as are very large Nile crocodiles, which lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures. Optional activity; Hot air balloon – Wake early and be picked up by the air balloon team for your hot air balloon safari which starts in the early morning, just in time for sunrise. For about one hour you will be floating peacefully above the ground, with a bird’s eye view of the African bush below. The capacity for this activity is limited making this a very special and exclusive experience. Breakfast will be provided and thereafter connect back to the lodge.
Day 9: Transfer to Serengeti National Park – Tanzania
You will have a very early breakfast and checkout from the lodge to embark on your journey to Serengeti national park in Tanzania. You will have a game drive on your way to the Isebania border where you will be crossing. This day will take you to another side of Masai Mara as you exit the park via Olololo gate in Mara west.
Upon arrival at the border, the customs office will do clearance after which proceed to Serengeti where you will enter the park with the game drive lasting up to 2 hours as you enjoy the plains of Serengeti. The Serengeti allows you to see the big five game in plenty. Day 10: Full day in Serengeti national park
You will wake up early ahead of a morning game drive in Serengeti plains. You will explore the vast savannah plains while spotting wildlife species like elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, antelopes, zebras among others and also enjoy the amazing scenery in the national park. You will have lunch after your morning game drive. Chance to witness the great wildebeest migration at the Mara River. You will also engage in an afternoon game drive around Serengeti national park and explore the central plains as you search for wildlife species like elephants, lions, buffalos, cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, impalas, kudu, dik dik among others. You will return for dinner and overnight at lodge as above
Day 11: Central Serengeti game drive – transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area
After breakfast, enjoy yet another morning game drive in the Serengeti plains to increase your chances of seeing more animals. After your picnic lunch, transfer to Ngorongoro conservation. You will also have a cultural experience with the Maasai people who also live in the Ngorongoro conservation area. Day 12: Full day game drive in Ngorongoro crater
Wake up early, have breakfast, and connect to descent to over 600 meters in the Ngorongoro crater. Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest inactive caldera which is home to numerous wildlife species as well as bird species such as flamingos which can be seen during a safari in the crater along the shores of Lake Magadi. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest (in months of January, February and March), zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants.
Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. You will also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually see here. Dinner and overnight at the lodge as above

Day 13: Game drive in Tarangire national park – transfer to Arusha
After breakfast, drive to transfer to Tarangire National Park. Connect for a full day game drive for amazing game viewing experience in the Tarangire National Park, enjoying sights of different animals with your packed lunch.
