This 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure is an amazing adventure that starts from Tanzania and ends in Kigali Rwanda. The safari will take you to Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro conservation area where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, zebras, lions, leopards, warthogs, elands, gazelle, giraffes, wildebeests, cheetahs, dik dik, lions, leopards among others during the game drives. The 11 days Rwanda primates safari and Tanzania adventure will also take you to Nyungwe forest national park and Volcanoes national park where you will be able to spend time with the endangered mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitat during Rwanda gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking experience.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park
Depending on your location in Kigali on the first day of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, you will be welcomed by a driver guide from Achieve Global Safaris who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Nyungwe forest national park. On the way you will have a stopover for en-route lunch and then proceed with another stopover at Butare museum and Nyanza palace. Upon arrival in Nyungwe forest national park, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking experience and Canopy
Chimpanzee trekking,
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be allocated an experienced park guide who is well conversant with trails in the forest and start trekking in the forest which takes about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located. During Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe you will be able to view other primates, bird species, plant and tree species among others. Once the chimpanzees are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which helps you to learn about their behaviours, watch them feed, breastfeed, fight, hunt, take photos and record videos. After the face to face encounter with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide to return to the lodge for lunch.
Canopy walk
After lunch, you will go for a thrilling canopy walk which starts with a briefing at Uwinka park headquarters. After the briefing, you will connect to Igishigishi trail for the canopy walk which takes about 1 to 2 hours measures a total of 160 meters long and 70 meters above the ground level. During the canopy walk tour, you will enjoy stunning views of different wildlife, forest tops, birds, colourful butterflies among others. After the canopy walk, you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
After breakfast on the third day of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Volcanoes national park. On the way you will have en-route lunch and great views of Lake Kivu, beautiful scenery, landscape, tea plantations among others. Upon arrival in Volcanoes national park you will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park

After an early breakfast on the fourth day of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, you will carry your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be divided in groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and an experienced park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on their location and during trekking you will be able to view forest birds, other primate species, plant and tree species among others.
Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them which gives you a chance to learn more about their behaviors, habits, take photos, watch them carry out their daily activities and record the incredible memories to show people back home. After the one hour with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your guide to return to the lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali-city tour and Departure flight to Kilimanjaro International airport
On the fifth day of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, you will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and later go for a short Kigali city tour where you will be able to visit Kigali Genocide memorial centre, Kimironko market, art centres among others. After the city tour, you will transfer to Kigali international airport for your departure flight to Kilimanjaro international airport. Upon arrival, you will meet up with our driver guide to transfer to the hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area-walking safari
After breakfast on the sixth day of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, you will check out of the hotel with your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area. On the way, you will have a stopover for lunch and upon arrival, you will proceed to the conservation area for a guided walking safari on the crater rim where you will view animals like giraffes, zebras at a close range, listen to sweet sounds of bird species singing in trees among others. After the walking safari, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Ngorongoro crater drive, Maasai Bomas visit
After an early breakfast on day 7 of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a drive in the Ngorongoro crater where you will descent 600 meters into the crater for a game drive. During the game drive, you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, dik dik, leopards, lions, hyenas among others. You will also be able to view different bird species like flamingos, pelicans, ducks among others.
After the crater drive, you will go for an interesting Maasai Bomas where you will be able to interact with the local people, learn about their tradition, culture, lifestyle, way of living, listen to their ancient stories, enjoy their traditional entertainment among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Serengeti national park en-route game drive
On day 8 of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, you will have breakfast at the lodge, check out with your packed lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Serengeti national park. On the way you will have amazing vies of the highland, landscape, wildlife and a picnic lunch. Upon arrival, you will have a game drive as you proceed to your lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 9&10: Full day game drives Serengeti national park, Hot air balloon
On day 9 and 10 of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania safari adventure, you will have an early breakfast and then transfer to Central Serengeti for a full day game drive where you will be able to spot animals like lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, gazelle, jackals, hippos, elands, topi, wildebeest, view different bird species among others. You will also have a picnic lunch in the park and later continue with the game drive where after you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Departure to Arusha
On the last day of the 11 days Rwanda primates and Tanzania adventure, you will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Arusha with views of wildlife on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the Kilimanjaro airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
